  1. Driving rain here this morning. Approaching 1.5".
  2. Thank you. Color is coming on fast. I'd bet peak is close at 3K. Was hoping to get out to Deep Creek and Davis next weekend You'll see some nice colors in the foothills out this way in the maples, sumac, and such. Suspect the Blue Ridge is beginning to dazzle too. This is going to be an earlier show than I can remember in a while.
  3. Never fails. My birthday is almost always the warmest day of the month. Every year. Thankfully, the front is through out here. Left steamy winchester at 78F and got out here at 69F and falling. Feels great out right now.
  4. Where's the front? This sucks.
  5. We're getting water-boarded out here. Where is this easterly flow during winter? The actual rain is far more impressive than the radar returns. Upslope FTW.
  6. As fun as it would be, I'm over mowing. Hoping for dry. 5 - 8 out here would be some very bad flooding. .... and mowing.
  7. They had those a month ago here. Was in Costco last night and they have their Christmas section already up.
  8. It's actually the lower angle. It hits more of your body now rather than just the top pf your head and shoulders. It heats flat surfaces less, but vertical surfaces more.
  9. Just in time as we head towards winter.
  10. Picked up a whopping .1 today and a .3" deluge yesterday.
  11. Great news for October. Probably not so much for winter.
  12. December. You won't see a drop of moisture after.
  13. All total about .5" for the event. A whole lotta nothing out here. Everything fell starting a couple miles East.
  14. Insane. I've got .10" on the day. There are stations 5 to 10 miles away at 2" or more.
  15. Those pics were crazy. What I can't figure out is how the wind snapped those utility poles like that, but I didn't see tree damage or damaged siding or roofs on the houses in those pics. Bizarre.
  16. Cool. We'll be able to compare weather obs. When do you expect to be done building?
  17. I'm on whitace rd. Just due NW of the lake.
  18. Over 1" yesterday for me. This seals a wall-to-wall green summer. Very Stark contrast to my previous 2 summers out here where everything was completely burned up by early summer. It actually got dry a bit before yesterday, but impressive storms took care of that.
  19. Caught some 50 mph gusts at the office in winchester. No hail. Looked more impressive than it was. Meanwhile at home....next to zilch. Passed just south.
  20. I see I got 0.00 back home this week. Lol.
  21. 2009 and 2014 are the gold standards for summer in these parts I think.
