    Just now leaving there. In a traffic jam by exit 17. The weather was borderline hot when the sun was out. Fortunately a nice breeze helped.

    Left rain, fog and 62 degrees back home as I headed to Daniel Boone HS. It's sunny and 75 here just south of Johnson City. Hopefully this helps the water receed and with recovery efforts. Was wondering if they were going to have to call the game off permanently with all the issues in the area but I guess DB isn't around the severe flooding.

    Went to Knoxville this evening hoping to have power went I got home. No such luck. There was tree damage down 75 to around the Anderson County border. I think the path the storm ended up taking, further east/north than depicted, caused the wind to be excessive here. The rain had stopped earlier but once I got back to Campbell County it had started back. It's raining moderately right now and has rained .3 inches since I'd left. Gonna end up around 3 inches here today by midnight. That's gonna be about seven inches this week but over several days, that's not enough to cause flooding issues here.

    Now over 2000 more meters have went down since the wind picked back up. I'll be surprised to have power back tomorrow.

    Green leafs have been stripped off at a rate that it looks like a big thunderstorm with hail came through. It may be enough to affect fall foliage to some extent.

    Current power outages here. It was going down but for some reason 550 additional meters went down.

    I suspect the center may have passed very close by here. We had a brief period (5 or so minutes) of sun about 20 minutes ago.

    Had a 45mph gust that knocked my power out at around 8:30 this morning. Tons of trees down and power has been off for three hours. Finally came out to town. Power is also out there. Tree and leaf debris everywhere. 2.5 inches of rain since midnight.

    Had a 44mph gust that took my power. I am outside posting this and I can hear trees going down on the mountainside behind my house. It's rained two more inches since midnight and it's coming down in buckets right now.

    Picked up an additional half inch in the hour and a half since midnight. My last check until morning. Moderate rain still coming down.

    Very heavy rain falling at midnight. 1.8 inches of rain today. 4.5 inches this week so far. La Nina 1995 was hot and dry that ended cooler and wet when September and October came along. Hurricane Opal made 1995 particularly wet imby.

    Heavy rain has moved back in now. Rain is in my forecast through Monday basically. Was going to be in Gray tomorrow for the Campbell County Daniel Boone game, will now be there Saturday. Looks like it might be dry over that way Saturday for the game that starts at noon.

    My forecast had lost the "Tropical Storm Conditions" statement but it's back now. I also got the wind warning update. The change between the first and the 10:45 update was to raise the sustained wind max from 30 to 35mph.

    Finally getting on shore. 939 with 140mph winds at landfall. Had light rain for the last hour. Looks like a very heavy band is working it's way up from Knoxville right now. I've had 1.45 inches of rain since midnight. That looks heavy enough to probably put down .25 to .5 by 11:59 assuming it stays juiced.

    I can't remember seeing a storm rapidly strengthen and move this fast at the same time. It's moving 24mph. It's probably going to land soon. On the positive side, if there is one, areas won't have to sit under the eye wall for a huge amount of time. It's gonna move in and move on in a few hours.

    I'm confused by reporting on the storm. The weather channel is saying 120mph winds, cat 3. NHC 2pm update says 110mph winds.

    I'd say most of the mid-state will get drenched. 2 to 4+ inches at least. Once it get sucked into the upper low it's likely to rain all weekend.

    Midnight came with 2.05 inches falling here since yesterday evening. We didn't get the evening conveyor belt.

    Similar here. Probably the highest wind potential mentioned in a forecast I've seen outside of severe thunderstorm predictions. Friday Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers likely in the morning, then showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. East winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph, becoming south 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
