  1. Clear skies here up to 70 now
  2. Western Suffolk and SE Orange is roughly the same distance from Manhattan. 2-3 miles is the difference. It just seems closer because there isn’t much of a difference from the 5 boros in regards to potential weather impacts
  3. Absolutely but it doesn’t make it anymore metro than Rockland and orange county. Monroe/Woodbury/Harriman area is prob 35-40 miles NW of NYC as the crows fly
  4. Terrible logic from Harriman to the GWB it’s 40 mins straight down the palisades
  5. Suffolk is immediate metro? Eastern orange is roughly the same distance to the city center as those are out East
  6. Eastern Orange County has that title.
  7. My folks live right next to the reservoir on the slope of Schunnemunk and they are telling me they have 14”. Monroe is checking in with a 15 spot also. That stationary band must of been something special
  8. there has been a band parked over eastern orange for a bit now. 10-12" spots are gonna pop up there I havent been above freezing at all. Its just a lack of precip here
  9. Classic setup for the eastern part of the county to cash in while we are sucking dry air here in the west. Areas above 1000’ here are doing well tho.
  10. Took a 5 min drive to Otisville/bloomingburg area. At 1000-1200’ there is 10-12”. Very impressive cutoff
  11. 3.5” otg snowing moderately temp 29 roads wet
  12. I got a report that rock hill is up to 15” going out to measure. Getting some moderate snow now
  13. Even up here it’s just mood snow. A little over 1” on the ground. Temp 31
  14. Elevation isn’t even a factor now. There is a report of 10” right on the E of the river in southern dutchess. We just happen to be on the wrong side of the tracks. Oh well bring on spring
  15. It’s gonna be just E of the Hudson. I’m seeing reports of 8-10” in Dutchess. Some parts of the highlands In eastern orange may get in on the action.
  16. 31 w/ lgt snow 1.5” otg pretty much a non event on this side of the county
  17. 32 w/ very light snow. No accumulation
  18. We are neighbors. Temp of 34 as well & I would consider 6” a win here. Let’s see what the morning brings
  19. Yeah I’ve seen this movie before. We will lack the precip for anything meaningful. @Juliancoltonshould do well with this setup.
  20. You guys out East will do much much better than us on the west side! Take lots of pics!
  21. This winter needs to end already. Big bust incoming up here
  22. 600-700’ is usually the magic number for these parts but the main concern should be the forecasted IVT / stationary band etc. Anyone on either side of that beast will be warm with drizzle. You can see on some guidance how CT is stuck between the IVT and the coastal low
