The llvl flow is backed enough to where there could be a tornado is any cell remains discrete and can become mature enough. Dews are a bit low so LCL's are sky high so that will probably hinder this a bit but its something to watch for

Should be, we're maximizing heating which is always critical when dealing with lower dews/marginal lapse rates. llvl lapse rates are quite steep from the heating and even 2-6km lapse rates getting at/above 7 C/KM...good indicator there should be some localized damaging wind gusts today.

have to start small

Been a decent start locally in the thunderstorm department. Had a nice one the other night around 3:00 AM and then there was one a few weeks back like 10-11 PM which had good thunder/lightning. Would like to see some branches come down with some hail today though

Looks like we setting up for a very warm second half of the month. Once we get past this upcoming week it's off to the races.

This is so much better than winter. Winter is only enjoyable if it is snowing but outside of it snowing, what is there to like about cloudy skies with low sun angle and temperatures in the 20's or 30's (or colder) and wind?

One of the best lightning displays I think I saw was I want to say April of 2002...though it may have been May. It happened on a Sunday. I was in New Britain at my grandparents there and we had a nasty storm roll through during the afternoon which produced 1.5" hail (still largest hail I've seen). Then back in West Hartford that night, we had a second round...and the lighting with this was insane...just non stop flashing as the storms approached and lots of CGs and loud thunder. There was one too (I can't even remember the year but I think it was August. Had to be summer of 2007 I think). My friend came down from New Hampshire randomly and we drove around the part of West Hartford towards the Reservoir where its elevated and the amount of CGs...that was actually scary stuff. It was just like gunshot sounds. Literally was like the CGs were striking next to us.

Wasn't expecting a great deal of sun today but can't wait to at least get some and warm it up a bit. Pretty warm aloft so once we get some heating temps will jump.

That's where I used to sit at BDL but there is a lot next to the hotel (always forget the name of it) close to the McDonalds which is even better for viewing because you're farther away from that building on the airfield that is a bit across from the McDonalds.
