Why?
Why what?

Weekend storm will probably cut but Monday appears to actually be gaining some traction. Plenty of cold and a coastal pop up. Just gotta hope it doesn’t get too surpressed.
-
Guess it was an inland thing. Didn’t even gust to 50 at BDR.
-
NAM better for SNE VS 12z. 2-4 inches for most.

Gfs looking much better for Friday out of nowhere. Nothing huge, but similar to the CMC now.

Very on and off. 10 mins of bigtime gusts then 20 mins of complete silence. Hoping UI outages don’t go bonkers tomorrow.

GGEM was very close to delivering the goods on March 2nd.

Tomorrow officially marks the unofficial end to significant accumulating snows on the coastal plain. Still about two weeks to go for interior sections. This is based on long term climo with considerations for anomalies such as what occurred in March 2918.
Damn , well see you guys next winter then!

looks like another setting up right after the first one....lets do this and shift to spring afterwards, is that asking too much?
Yes. Yes it is.

With the longwave ridge moving east, there actually might be some support for actual coastals heading into early March.
First time in a long time I can even recall seeing a fantasy range snowstorm of that caliber.

Weeklies still Morch after 10th or so.
Would easily take that over these SWFE that haven’t even given us much snow in the first place. I remember when even these events would at least give you a solid 6 inches before it got ugly. No point in it being cold if we are going to continue to find every possible way not to snow.

NAM looked great at hr 54. Solid for NYC. But then poof there goes the heavier rates once it gets in CT. Looks like this winter is trying to find as many ways as possible to screw us.

Gotta say I did not expect the radar to be as crappy as it is. It hasn’t even done a single thing down here. Can’t even worry about sleet/rain if there is no precipitation in the first place. Man this winter sure finds any way possible to completely suck.

The hole over southern ct is almost comical at this point. Man what a sh*t winter.

I am on south coast so hoping for and inch or 3 before slop.
Meh maybe at the end but I’m still optimistic we are mostly snow.

A holiday for many.
Oh ya forgot. Use to have it off until my company took it away from us this year hah

People could be caught quite off guard Monday morning if this keeps trending like it is.

Feeling semi optimistic we can stay mostly snow on the south shore of CT, but it will be close. While there is a low cutting into PA it is very weak, and a transfer is happening, so it won’t have too much of a warm push.
-
NAM looks like 3-6 for coastal SNE. Heaviest snow at night with light snow lingering throughout the day. Sign me the F up considering how bad this winter has been.
-
Nice wintry appeal on the NAM. 15 hours of snow.. that accumulates to 1-3 inches total lol

Looks like I'm being transferred to FL this summer. So this may be my last New England winter for a few years. Sucks to go out this way
At least you were here for an epic time for snow. After all the years of KU’s I imagine we could be entering a bit of a dry spell for while.

Only using the TT graphic, but hr 144 on the Euro looks really good.. 995 in a great spot southeast of Long Island.
