Unfortunately with the energy that is being held back in the southwest- It will likely eject after it warms up and be a big rain maker. Last night's OP euro showed it.

Next 10 days of rain on the Euro is 2 months worth in some areas. I don't know how we avoid major flooding if this pattern continues..

I know this well. But the flood from Michael was the worst in recorded history in Danville according to the USGS gage.

The preceding river conditions were way different then. The water levels are much lower now and it would have to rain over 7 inches to even get to moderate flood. There will be some flooding but it is highly unlikely to be close to Michael. I was in Danville when it hit. 3 people were washed away and drowned by the flash flooding, the Dan River rose 20 feet in hours. People underestimate what a disaster it was for the city

It won't be close. Wind gusted over 60 mph in Danville and it rained over 6 inches in 6 hours.

I have been saying it for a while but flooding is going to become a major concern if this keeps up. After a widespread 2-5 inch rain this week it looks to be wet again next week and beyond...

The winter of 2009/10 had a negative NAO and active STJ. Jackpot. It snowed multiple times each month including December even in Marion.

This. And looking at signs of a SE ridge developing on the OP euro and Eps to a lesser extent. They can be a death knell in February/March

The odds continue to increase for a snowless winter for most of the southeast. I would put the odds of a trace or less of snow for Charlotte, GSP, Raleigh and GSO at 70%.

Give me a warm and dry February at this point and I won't complain about the lack of snow.

We're in trouble folks. Big SE ridge looks to build in after next weekend for a while at least according to the EPS and OP Euro. More rain of course too.
