  1. The preceding river conditions were way different then. The water levels are much lower now and it would have to rain over 7 inches to even get to moderate flood. There will be some flooding but it is highly unlikely to be close to Michael. I was in Danville when it hit. 3 people were washed away and drowned by the flash flooding, the Dan River rose 20 feet in hours. People underestimate what a disaster it was for the city
  2. It won't be close. Wind gusted over 60 mph in Danville and it rained over 6 inches in 6 hours.
  3. Michael was devastating for Danville. This wont touch that..
  4. I have been saying it for a while but flooding is going to become a major concern if this keeps up. After a widespread 2-5 inch rain this week it looks to be wet again next week and beyond...
  5. Last nights OP Euro drops some good snow on WNC and East TN next weekend..
  6. Next week is going to be interesting with a possible strong storm system with heavy rain, flooding and severe weather
  7. The winter of 2009/10 had a negative NAO and active STJ. Jackpot. It snowed multiple times each month including December even in Marion.
  8. Better enjoy it while we can.. Most of this is from Tuesday/Wednesday next week for Western sections
  9. I bet you get some 60's next week. What's your elevation?
  10. This. And looking at signs of a SE ridge developing on the OP euro and Eps to a lesser extent. They can be a death knell in February/March
  11. The odds continue to increase for a snowless winter for most of the southeast. I would put the odds of a trace or less of snow for Charlotte, GSP, Raleigh and GSO at 70%.
  12. Give me a warm and dry February at this point and I won't complain about the lack of snow.
  13. We're in trouble folks. Big SE ridge looks to build in after next weekend for a while at least according to the EPS and OP Euro. More rain of course too.
  14. Well at least it looks interesting and maybe flooding. Today we are going over 2 inches easy looking at the radar which puts us over 10 for the month..
  15. It does have our storm the GFS is showing and is another closer call but rain for most
  16. It's actually closer to a heavy event for the mountains...
  17. Euro showing wet snow/mix for the higher elevations of WNC for the storm next week (at least at the onset).
  18. It can't because the weekend rain storm is hanging out off New England. It is funneling in some colder air though.
  19. THE OP EURO HAS BEEN HINTING AT A GULF LOW AROUND THE 27TH/28TH BUT IT HAS IT TOO FAR SOUTH FOR NOW. TEMPS WOULD BE MARGINAL BUT IF IT COULD TRACK FARTHER NORTH IT MIGHT BE INTERESTING,
  20. Well the op euro shows a strong low pressure for the mid atlantic and heavy snow in western VA, WVA, and portions of NW NC next weekend..
