  1. Yeah I agree with mreaves up here... I thought we’d race out well ahead but things seem pretty normal right now. Mid-May and buds opening up to 2000ft, but even in the valley it’s not fully leafed out... early green, small leaves. In March one might have thought we’d have leaves on trees by mid-April, ha.
  2. Yeah, my wife and I were both on unemployment when furloughed for a time late last spring and early summer for the first time ever when furloughed... we had the opposite effect, this was the first year we got a refund. We obviously had taxes taken out while on unemployment but then they waived taxes on up to $10k per person and we weren’t on unemployment/furlough long enough to go past 20k combined, so we got all the tax back from unemployment. First tax refund in a while for us, even with owing for my photography side business. I always owe because I don’t pay taxes on that income until I file.
  3. They've been doing this for decades though. Even in the '90s all the stories were about "you won't believe what happened, and here's why you should be afraid. Tune in at 6pm to find out why an Ohio suburban mother is speaking up!" The problem now is that people can be exposed to it at all times... not just the morning or evening news cycle, or Dateline type show that you have to be sitting in front of NBC at 7pm every night if you really want to get scared.
  4. Damn dude. A double visible. The size of the scene is awesome.
  5. How about your house? Not trying to be an azzhat, curious if you think you’ll sniff 90F. It will certainly be the first summer burst. Is it full leaf out down there? Up here it isn’t, and forest flood/ground vegetation is not in full swing yet. May is the month here for warm/hot readings when dry and lacking full vegetation... last year’s 80s and 90s stretch proved that. Official stations mid-90s, even at elevated valleys like SLK, with a very dry air mass... it was how you draw heat up.
  6. Yup I found it. Dr Scholls. I rarely buy this type of stuff thinking it’s too gimmicky but with the pain, I was getting anything. Best $10 spent at Shaws ever, ha. I think it was like the 4th or 5th day I was able to cut the nail away from the skin. Euphoric feeling afterward, . Dr Scholls
  7. Dude I feel ya. I had that last summer. Cut my toenail wrong I guess, it became lodged in the side of the toe overtime, turned yellow with infection. The pain was intense for such a minor thing though if it was hit by my shoe. I can’t remember the product but I got something in the supermarket that was like a circular bandage pad. It helped immediately, numbed the area under it, which was the ingrown nail. After a few days of those things, the toe was numb enough that I was able to cut back the nail (still hurt like hell, but could do it without passing out lol). That seemed to fix it.
  8. We had pretty consistent thunder around this afternoon. A couple downpours that were short lived. Looks like 0.22” in the Stratus.
  9. Yeah it’s also likely a case of we like to remember the success stories of phones in water still working... like wow my buddy’s phone worked! All while not mentioning the 99 other times it doesn’t and the phone is phucked. Just like hearing about a guy getting rich on crypto, but not the ones who don’t make shit lol.
  10. Yeah turned into a pretty wet run in the end.
  11. Looks nice and warm going forward. As we often see in the spring, higher anomalies over-the-top into southern Canada.
  12. It’s amazing sometimes. My buggy lost his phone on a backcountry ski trail one year in late January... someone hiking after the snow melted found it and it turned on. He was able to get it back to my buddy. It was like 4 months of Mansfield weather that thing endured. Also this spring someone contacted me on social to try and find a phones owner... iPhone 11 found when the snow melted, dried it in some rice and it fired right up but locked on Home Screen so hard to figure out owner. Hardy little devices sometimes.
  13. I like him, the booth is great right now. Eck and Ellis get colorful and DOB keeps them focused . Ellis says stuff DOB wouldn’t but gets Eck going... Ellis “that pitch had some hair on it, don’t you think?” Eck is so delightfully surprised “Why yes! Yes it does. Check out that hair. Thank you for saying that.” DOB rolls his eyes.
  14. Brutal ending to the Sox game. Ohtani got to Barnes with two outs in the 9th for a two-run jack. Can’t win them all but Barnes finally blew one.
  15. Been hearing thunder for an hour or two while hiking on Mansfield... just a wall of dark clouds and weather on the other side of the Worcester Range. The cells just keep bubbling up but seem pretty stationary staying on a firm line east of RT 100 corridor.
  16. Run on garden hoses at Home Depot?
  17. 46 stopped going over 90... lol... New Hampshire Motor Speedway on I-95. I saw NHSP running one of these maybe a decade ago. They had no joke like 20 vehicles pulled over for processing at one time. Troopers in high-vis clothing practically in the interstate just pointing at cars and motioning to the shoulder.... along with a few chase cars a half mile or so up if someone didn’t get the message.
  18. 72/37... another day under 30% RH. Pretty decent forest fire yesterday near Killington. Some photos found online.
  19. Just the other day I started noticing black flies in the 1,300-2,500ft band, in the calmer hardwood forests... the slow side trails on Mansfield. It's a spring light green in the valley bottom, with flowering color peaking it seems. Green is starting to spread up the mountains, into the mid-slopes. Bugs are only going to be building in this transition. Spiders increasing in numbers too, in the eaves.
  20. There is nothing more idyllic than a Chamber of Commerce weather day in New England. Mountains or rolling hills, forests and fields... cobalt blue skies and Bob Ross' "happy little clouds." This weather is 10 out of 10.
  21. Another Red Sox win with strong pitching and the bats going off. Would be a great New England sports day if the B's can take Game 1 from the Caps.
  22. All doors and windows wide open. Nice breeze rolling through inside. Glorious evening. Would definitely suck to have A/C units in today. Might as well close the shades too at that point.
  23. 72/28 for 19% RH. BTV 77/28 for 16% RH. Just how the chamber likes it.
  24. Bullpen has been regressing to the mean for sure. No confidence there. The starters are getting the job done, Pivetta again with only 1 ER into the 7th. Ended up with 2 ER because the middle relief has been serving it up. So nice to have Barnes close the door in the 9th every time it seems like.
