  1. Been a beautiful day up here. In the 60s since 915am after a low of 36F. Currently 66F.
  2. Lifts are legends, but also need to be replaced over decades. The Superstar lift will continue to be the flagship lift at Killington. Seemed like a good party to celebrate the old lift. 30 years?! I rode that thing in middle school.
  3. Yeah the southern end of Mansfield rises up another 500+ feet behind the crest in this photo (the Nose is above this). The Chin to the north is the highest spot at 4,395ft. This photo is of 1,500 to 3,400 foot elevations. 1900 vertical feet of relief in photo, but the lift does 2100 verts in 7-8 minutes. I’m biased but it’s one of the best chairlifts in the East. You are transported very quickly through different climate zones.
  4. Windows and doors shutting quickly. Might even see a white coating down here while the upper elevation snow plots get smoked in the upslope flow on Wednesday. One day wonder for spring today. Plenty of snow for now. Today was great.
  5. Hit 64F up here. Windows and doors open this afternoon.
  6. Let’s do this for the next three weeks.
  7. There’s so much snow still on the hill for this time of year. The depth data of the 3k and 3.9k sites are above average. 3,000ft. 3,900ft. The decrease in snowpack depth this time of year is crazy. Every 1,000 vertical feet can mean feet of snow melt as you descend. It goes like 91” to 67” to 30” to 0-12” every thousand feet to the base.
  8. Cleared out late here and up to 52F. It’s kind of a nice evening out there.
  9. This doesn’t even make sense but the GFS isn’t backing down.
  10. Not sure but Mansfield is looking to pass 350” of observed, measured snowfall at 3,000ft. Everything was open today if you could get to it from the top of the FourRunner Quad… buried, no weaknesses anywhere. I hope I get to see a 450+ winter. Mansfield stake would be at 150”+ easily.
  11. Strongest lift getting focused to the NW on latest runs.
  12. Yeah I think keeping expectations to minimal or nothing is the way to go. Small chance but can see the upside. I agree with you for sure.
  13. Know Kevin is already asleep, but his area seems like it could be prone to a WTF in the morning at his elevation. So marginal but it’s the time of year where you can either get nothing or wake up to plowing if dynamic cooling and rates are there.
  14. Flashes everyone in CT over to 32F in heavy precip.
  15. I mean even the positive snow depth maps are like huh?
  16. Anyone who is rooting for cold rain over a whitening is crazy. It won’t be 65 degrees, might as well whiten up some surfaces if it’s going to be chilly.
  17. Measured 14” at our High Road stake over the past two days. 7” yesterday and then 7” more found this morning.
  18. Yeah a bit low on the call. High Road plot did 7” yesterday and 7” on this morning’s reading for 14”. Yesterday’s burst was surprising. The elevated Lookout Snow Cam which runs conservative/low did 4” between 7am and 8am. Looking at the times it looked like it did 1” in like 11 minutes. Board flipped clean at 6:56am on the clock then hit 1” by 7:07am. It hit 2” at 7:20am. Thats some high end snowfall rates.
  19. Just ripping now. Focused on the Mansfield massif.
  20. The mountain got smoked. It culminated with 4" in one hour between 7am and 8am this morning. This was one of the heaviest 3 hour periods I can remember.
  21. Snowing hard now, after this photo. Ground remained snow covered today. It’s not a lot here in the valley, but a wintry vibe.
  22. Nope. Jays haven’t for the past two days. Sox have gone cold.
  23. Yeah that was puzzling, it’s cold but there was no other game with a lower start-time temperature in history? They clearly indicated this was the coldest.
