  1. 58 down from 60...back door front clouds...
  2. very few years had its coldest April Temperature at the end of the month...back in 1966 and 1967 April had late month cold...both years had record cold in May...2020 had its coldest April temp around the 22nd but had an additional cold day near the end of the month...It snowed a little in May 2020 with a benchmark record low...
  3. the last two Mays had an unseasonably cold period with record cold Temperatures...there is a possibility NYC sees upper 30's before the month ends...will it be the last 30's NYC sees until the fall?...Or will May have winters last gasp before countless 90 degree days with humidity...
  4. no snow on the ground in Dingmans Ferry or Milford PA got here yesterday at 3pm...had some graupel yesterday...
  5. when I drive on I 287 near Piscataway it always the hottest spot...
  6. if there were tall buildings to the north of an obs sight the reflection off the buildings would raise the temperature some...those buildings have to be heated and cooled adding to the warmth around them...
  7. NYC's average temperature went up after every building boom era...the building boom is expanding in all directions including up...look at Long Island City today compared to 30 years ago...LGA might be feeling its effects...
  8. nothing beat checking a mercury thermometer in a shelter big enough for all instruments...I don't like those little heat shields that are used now...

  13. the lowest temperature for NYC and Newark is in the upper 30's which would be a very high April minimum...It is possible the area could see the coldest temperatures of the month still ahead...

  16. just had what looked like wet flakes falling for a brief time...only in the spring can you see snow reach the ground with temperatures in the upper 40's...
