We start off November with temperatures near to below normal this weekend. We could see another freeze in the typically colder lower spots and frost in ridge locations overnight tonight and again on Sunday night. We warm back into the low to mid 70's by Wednesday before another cool down toward the end of the week.

After this morning's "sprinkle" event with 0.01" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township that ended our dry streak at 32 days we clear up this afternoon and turn windier and chillier. A slightly chillier than normal weekend ahead before we warm back up to near 70 degrees by Election Day next Tuesday. We cool a bit again by the end of the first week in November.

Happy Halloween! Yet another warm beautiful day on the way with temperatures while not record warmth for trick or treaters it will still be well into the 70's with some low 80's in lower elevations. Cold front cross tomorrow morning with very slight chances of rain. Much chillier over the weekend with temperatures falling back to near normal levels to start November.

A little factoid - if it were not to rain again here in Chester County for the rest of this year....there would still be 34 years that it rained less than 2024!!

We will see an unseasonably warm end to the week before a cooler weekend... followed by a warmer week next week - then cooler again by next weekend. Unfortunately rain chances have dwindled with the frontal passage late on Halloween night. Therefore, the all-time consecutive days without rain run may indeed be broken for many... but not all climate stations across Chester County if we get through this Sunday without any precipitation.

Our warming trend will continue and peak on Halloween with a high well into the 70's with an 80-degree reading possible in valley locations. While it will be warm it will not be as warm as those Trick or Treat days of 1945 / 1946 / 1950 and 2016. Some models still hint at some rain on Thursday night. If we do get rain we will not set a streak for longest stretch without rain. We will be behind both 1924 and 1963. We would need to get through Sunday to set a new record of 35 days rain free. We turn a bit cooler and closer to early November temperatures by the weekend.

I have been here since 2004 and in only 7 of those 21 years have I had a 1st freeze in October. Below are all other spots sorted by elevation in Chester County
-
As has been the case many times this month...many locations below 500 feet ASL saw freezing temperatures this morning. While most spots above 550 feet fell to no lower than the mid to upper 30's. The lowest temp I found was the 26.7 at Warwick and the warmest was 44.5 at West Grove. Today begins a warming trend that will take us through Halloween. We should peak in the upper 70's on Thursday before falling back to closer to normal levels to start November.

Today should be several degrees chillier than yesterday with highs in the upper 50's. Freeze warning tonight although many spots have already seen multiple freezing temps in lower spots of the county. Most spots except the highest locations like here in East Nantmeal should see a freeze by Monday morning. We start a nice warming trend tomorrow that will last through Halloween before we trend cooler to start November. This week's warmer temperatures should ensure our first above normal temperature month since July. There is a slight chance of showers later on Halloween night....but I am not holding my breath!

Great quote from Tony Heller!! "There are only two types of people who believe the climate is getting worse. 1. People who are ignorant of history. 2. People who lie about history."
-
A cold front (of course dry) has passed through the area this morning. Winds will pick up and temperatures will again be a little below normal with some higher spots struggling to reach 60 degrees. Chillier tomorrow before we start a steady warming trend that will last through Halloween. While we will be nowhere close to a record warm trick or treating we could see temperatures in lower spots well into the 70's to near 80 degrees. There is a freeze watch out tomorrow night for the higher spots who have not yet dropped to freezing so far this fall season.

Many of the lower spots in Chester County were well down into the 30's including a below freezing low at Warwick Park for the 7th time this month. Higher spots in the county have still not experienced even 1 freezing low this autumn. Temperatures are near to slightly below normal through the weekend before we start a nice warming trend that should peak on Halloween with temperatures that day well into the mid-70's! Of course, absolutely no rain in the forecast for at least the next week.
