68 currently; projected low of 52. Delightful for August 1.

I fully expect the triple “H”s back; enjoying this for now.

Should get into the upper 40s here without too much trouble. Currently 62/54 and tanking. I'd rather have warm nights for another few weeks to keep my gardens rolling.

So the Old Lady is barking up a storm over these bugs on her eggplant, any of you smart guys know what they are and how to get rid of them?  I'm guessing the gun that I'm going to likely use on the groundhog that's eating the perennial flower gardens isn't the answer here.

No idea what they are, but just get some Sevin insecticide and they'll be gone. While I try not to use the potent stuff until it's absolutely necessary, any oils/natural solutions are hit-or-miss at best for established infestations.

The abnormally wet thing isn't true everywhere. I'm only at about 2.5" since the wet period started. That's not going to make much of a dent in a 12+" deficit.

Most places to your north and west will remember this as a wet early summer period.

  4. About 1/4 of my tomato plants have started showing early blight lesions in the past day or two, in spite of my usual pruning regime and weekly Daconil treatments. Usually I can make it to July before foliar diseases show up. It'd be hard to invent a more favorable weather pattern for continued disease pressure than the one coming up.
