Foliage in the gunks was pretty epic today. Not just grading on a curve, but genuinely really good. Tons of vibrant oranges and reds around Minnewaska and Mohonk.

I have one rose that bloomed in the past couple days, two new buds on another rose and a lillie that just bloomed today. Nothing to see here...
My lilacs have a bunch of blooms

2.15" here.
Not sure when I'll be able to plant my garlic without it just rotting. I know GL was talking that the other day too.

I turned mine on. I'm glad I've been procrastinating the uninstall.

That's 90! October did what August couldn't.

guys, I don’t mean to discount some of these models, but other than a severe thunderstorm situation that causes massive flash flooding, the chances of an area wide 6 inch event are ridiculous.
given the saturated ground, even 2 to 3 inches is enough to cause issues.
I'm looking forward to tallying all the 6" reports when we're done

@Juliancolton what's your total so far?
Coming up on 1.5" per the tipper. It's pouring, but not quite the torrent that you might think just looking at radar.

Stuck in/under the classic early fall Wallkill River valley fog
Just about the entire valley was socked in thanks to the easterly breeze, advecting moisture off the river and promoting a deep fog layer. I was hoping to get some undercast shots from the Torne this morning, and on the nighttime microphysics loop it seemed like fog was still expanding in that direction, but it perfectly clear when I got to Bear Mountain. Plan B was Storm King, which yielded a nice undercast looking north.

Getting crushed up here - coming up on 2" for the day and 3" for the weekend. I'd kill for this banding setup in a few months.

Met summer 2023 was: 25.54"
Astro summer 2023 so far: 25.26"
Interestingly met 2011 was: 25.26" as well and the 2011 astro summer was: 29.97"
The amazing thing is that 2011 had two extremely prolific tropical systems and 2023 has had none. Just an incredible convective pattern this year.

4.05" since Thursday evening, everything is a soggy mess yet again.
3.40" here. More slow-moving showers/storms this afternoon although coverage looks reduced. What's your total for astro summer?

I was out of town this weekend and missed all the storms, but what a soggy mess still. July can end any time now, thanks.

I'm getting blasted with SW winds out ahead of this line. Crunchy, blighted maple leaves hitting my face like sheet metal wiping out YouTube hurricane chasers.

I'm being robbed of a heatwave. Highs 90, 90, 89, 91 the last four days.
Ended up with the hottest day of the summer, though, at 95.

So, I'm at 22.35" for met. summer so far. There's an outside chance that tonight's convection gets me close to 25" - the NAMs look pretty juicy.

Only got down to 56 here in the swamps of Campbell Hall, 58/56 currently. @Juliancolton was probably on the verge of frost this morning.
I kid, I kid!
53, meh. Feels refreshing, but not quite PSL weather yet.
