    The suite of op guidance at range isn’t far off for temps…..GFS being the warmest. Canadian is by far the coldest but the storm is suppressed and never gets north of the VA/NC line.

    Historically, El Niño winters result in above average snowfall ~50% of the time for the major reporting stations in the DMV. A boom winter isn’t a given despite what you may read. Even some moderate to strong Ninos result in crap winters, but we all drool over the thoughts of an 09/10 repeat, which was a moderate Nino.

    If anyone is seeking out excellent skiing conditions, Alyeska is nearing 350” on the season. It’s another excellent snow season in Alaska.

    Not often. It’s rare. Last winter, Mt Washington in NH recorded a wind chill below -108 F. The air temp was -47 F with winds over 100mph.

    Growing consensus that the ski areas will have a half decent holiday weekend. That’s nice to see for a change. Euro has a fresh 6-10 on the ground with temps in the teens for Canaan/Snowshoe on NYE morning. Less for wisp/7 springs but still wintry.

    No. Every winter season on this board there is at least one poster that triggers folks to react in a strong way and sometimes it goes as far as community members ganging up on the bad poster. Last year it was a random poster from the southeast PA area that started posting in our sub (I don’t remember the user name). I guess it’s stormy this year.

    That 1/1-1/2 signal is there on the Euro, GFS, CMC. CMC wants to bring a trailing piece of energy through the area just prior after the midweek disturbance.
