  1. Gfs mishandling of MJo caused bogus cane. Looks to be mostly gone now.
  2. Maybe Tamarack knows this, but any reason why seemingly healthy oaks have had trouble leafing out completely? When I look at a couple of my oaks..it looks like they have little buds, but no leaves. Indeed I have two trees that look like a third of the tree just did not leaf out. There are no caterpillar issues so curious what is going on.
  3. But I have it too. Now it’s windy FTL.
  4. I think it’s early for them. I notice that in June.
  5. Forsythia really bloomed last week. Norway maples are starting to leaf out. Won't be long there.
  6. I actually might get two small ones. Easy to have them look at if you maintain them.
  7. Stone can be a good alternative in some spots, but need to be careful. Otherwise your yard will look like something from El Paso.
  8. I do mulch every other year. Second year looks fine still.
  9. I just saw it today. I skipped that and just doing a preemergent with fert.
  10. I’m getting the itch to seed some areas but I know it will torch. I just don’t want it to look bad all summer, but I may not have a choice.
  11. I didn't think they could anymore, I guess so?
  12. I'm getting 6 yds of dark brown mulch delivered tomorrow. Got to edge first though.
  13. Many times new home lawns are terrible and take years to establish. Just be patient.
  14. Nino's typically have shear. But yeah I would guess east based has more of an effect vs central or west. And yes, whether it's AGW or not...a general warmer PAC probably throws off ENSO correlations a tad. As usual, so many things need to get factored in. It's never as simple as saying "well nino or nina mean this or that.."
  15. Nino. May lower overall activity, but as usual, it's the pattern that matters most for us.
  16. We had virtually none last year. I did notice these black beetles on some of my oaks. I think they’re borers? I killed what I could.
  17. Best of both worlds. Become like the guy in Bakersville CT that has those cold temps and get dews as high as possible.
  18. And so it begins. I think my attention is to house related items this year vs lawn.
  19. Is there a way to keep them if they do make sense? If the data is viable...I would think just to leave it in. I know it would help with those maps...but for scientific purposes you could just keep it in.
  20. The euro also was a driving rainstorm a few days before and then jumped SE. it was pretty bad even a few days out. But over last 48 hours it did better. It was a hair too warm though.
