I can’t figure out a reason either. I don’t see how the atmosphere just shifts into east coast torch gear at the same time every year and then reverts back.
Yeah but any mild period in January is called a thaw. That doesn’t mean anything statistically. Of course you’ll have a mild period in January at some point.
Never say never, but I'm not sure how this will change much over the next 6 days. Seems pretty locked on guidance. Trough starts digging in Rockies with no blocking. Maybe this looks more progressive and we can get a wave developing along it?
