Great stories.  I am pretty amazed more people didn't take a vacation day Mon and stay up there until the traffic died. I would absolutely die in 11 hr traffic.

Birds are very vocal this morning.

The silence at 98% eclipse in the woods was spectacular.  Owls hooted then stopped, the wind completely died, then temp dropped 8 degrees.  It was as the world had stopped. That was so incredible

Yeah, but I think those are made with remote sensing using water content to estimate the pack. So if it’s expecting 8:1 in an area on d1 and in d2 it’s a sobbing 3:1 it may think there’s more snow than there actually is.

Should rebound until about the 25th then telles go against us for a while. Think from then to 1st week of May is pretty ugly with blocking and east flow.

My experience with attempting to buck demographics with sneaky lesser known routes and circuitous right and left turns that you think others aren't really accessing is that you end up actually worse - because it's far worse to be in grid lock alongthose podunk roads.  With millions of people attempting to converge on N NY-NY-VT-N NH, the odds are overwhelmingly against you.  The probability is there are thousands of people that thought the same thing you did and en masse, you're all packing those roads too. 

It doesn't work. 

I think my crew is planning on a disk golf round afterward.  That will give 2 or 3 hours for the fudge to unpack.
