  1. Check out this perfect rainbow my friend Don captured in Tamaqua (Hometown) earlier today...
  2. So guess who's going north tomorrow? Yup. Me... I'll probably get the Prescott store delivered, but Flagstaff is, as far as I'm concerned, no bueno. I'm not going up there in blizzard-like conditions, although Prescott isn't going to be a walk in the park, either.
  3. I'll see your 40 and raise you 10. Our winds (gusts) out here on Wednesday may run in the 45-55 mph range. As for today in Tamaqua, 61 appears to be the high.
  4. I just checked. 55 in my backyard in Tamaqua. Your warm weather and my abnormally "chilly" winter is not helping my growing depression. I love Arizona, but it doesn't seem to love me back. It's not just the weather, either. Being a caregiver for an elderly parent is tough. I'm happy to do it, but I feel so alone. My wife will NOT come out, and I fear I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life, as the older you get, the harder it can be to meet a potential partner. Especially when you don't have any friends in the new location with whom you can go out with and meet new people. I gave up so much to do what I feel was, and is, the right thing to do, but I feel like I'm going to be the one to get burned and shafted for doing it. Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do...
  5. Somewhat, but out here it IS more showery than steady, like back there. It may snow most of the day, but it comes in in waves of heavy precipitation, followed by lighter lulls, then hits again. It's definitely different the way is snows (and rains) up there in the high country.
  6. The absurdity continues for Flagstaff... Tuesday Night Snow showers likely, mainly after 11pm. Widespread blowing snow, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Windy, with a southwest wind 23 to 28 mph increasing to 33 to 38 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. Wednesday Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow, mainly before 1pm. High near 32. Windy, with a southwest wind 28 to 37 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.
  7. I looked at many Virginia511 live freeway cameras from DC to Richmond to Norfolk, and all I saw was winter bare and brown grass, so I'm not sure this map is accurate.
  8. Yeah, Allentown at only 3 inches in mid February is unreal.
  9. I really hope so. I can't believe how persistent this pattern has been and how crappy winter is/was for you guys who love snow. And like I said, I don't post this stuff to rub anything in your faces, because, quite honestly, I wish we were having a record warm winter out here, and I didn't have to deal with snow up there when working. The locals though, are loving this, and while I don't care for the cool, wet pattern we're in, it does help the drought situation.
  10. This has been a winter to remember for my niece, who lives up in Flagstaff. They will go over 100" for the year with this next system, which sounds like it's going to be a doozy... Snipped from the NWS discussion: Our eyes then turn to the big story of the forecast. A strengthening trough will drop southward through the Great Basin on Tuesday. This trough will have access to plenty of moisture along with an upper jet in excess of 170 mph. This will lead to a miserable Wednesday across northern Arizona. Snow levels will drop fairly quickly and there is potential for several rounds of heavy snow as strong upslope flow and large scale lift will interact with the available moisture. Wind gusts between 40 to 60 mph appear likely at this time which will lead to plenty of blowing snow. Model guidance has been consistent in showing this strong trough moving through and increases confidence that this will be a high impact event.
  11. The reason the happy hour models pump out good snow storms is because they're drunk. Once they sober up, they go back to a soaking, rainy, cutter...
  12. Yes it is, but it's got a little elevation to it (2,398 ft) so in a cold storm where the snow levels are low, they can and do get some snow from time to time.
  13. They ain't fooling me. Biden probably shot it down...
  14. Don't blame yourself for this mess. It's my fault for moving out west. Wherever I am, there shall the cold be, too...lol
  15. Well, it's looking a little better for you guys in the 8-14 day panel, but for me, it's just more of the same...ugh
  16. This was when I got the sleet. That cluster formed a squall line just before got me, and is now moving southeast across all of metro Phoenix.
  17. It's so weird here right now. There's so much lighting and thunder that it's like a summer monsoon, but it's cold as hell... Must be some good dynamics with this storm system.
  18. It's not unheard of, but not normal, either. Right now it's storming with a rain/sleet mix, and very windy. Temp dropped from 50 to 39 as soon as it let loose...
  19. Check out this cluster of storms bearing down on me...
  20. Chances in 10 days... Where have we seen/heard that before?
  21. I'm just gonna leave this here...
