  1. I just read the warning for Lycoming and Centre County and it stated the line was moving at 60 mph and gusts in the cells were 70-80 mph...
  2. The outflow boundary blew him down to Lewisburg...lol Seriously though, that line is really moving. Thunderstorm warnings are hoisted as far east as Berwick already along I-80, and tornado warnings from Muncy Valley to Dushore...
  3. Didn't dress warm enough for an Iron Pigs game tonight. Breezy and 53 at the ballpark.
  4. Be it winter or summer, the Mason-Dixon line seems to be the place to be. It sure looks like we'll be in the cold rain portion of the storm, while south of the Turnpike sees the best storms later today... I typed that yesterday, but didn't post it, but it looks to be true. We've been cloudy, cool (61f), and dreary all day since this mornings rain. The band from the north is slowly pushing down, but the good stuff does indeed appear to be popping in the warm sector in south central and south west PA. The temp map on my phone app clearly shows the cool wedge of air over east central and northeast PA this afternoon, limiting us to not much more than a cool, synoptic rain event...
  5. I'm in Tulsa OK right now heading back east from California. You all better finish up that cold and snowy pattern and give me some spring weather...lol
  6. The year without a summer, 21st century version. I know some of you would just love that...
  7. And sometimes we barely have a summer. I remember a couple years back where it seemed like it was almost always rainy/drizzly with temps barely making it to 65 or 70 on a lot of days.
  8. What's harder to believe is that a national radar could look like that on April 6th...
  9. How the hell did the models go from consistently showing 6"+ for anywhere from Central VA to PA to what they are showing now?
  10. Those winds almost blew me over a couple of times down on 81 south of Carlisle. Little branches we're blowing out of the trees and hitting the truck. It was the worst wind I've driven in in a long time. Now safely parked in Blacksburg, SC. What a difference a few hundred miles makes. Down here the grass is green and growing, and while most trees are budding, they are green, and some are leafed out already. Hopefully I can get back Friday night and be safely at home for the Saturday storm.
  11. This is a good post. What I bolded in the quote is pretty much spot on. We all know each other on some level and each others "quirks" for lack of a better term. Everyone here knows I'm the biggest Warmanista there is, yet they all accept me for who I am, and why I'm a warmanista (which is because I'm a tractor trailer driver). They also know that. in season, and if I'm off work and sitting in my house, I will follow and root on a good snowstorm. The only civility that's missing is from the "snowsux" guy trolling. That being said, I was hoping for a west coast trip this week, but instead I'm leaving out tomorrow for a run to Atlanta and then to Greenville, SC for a backhaul to Mountain Top, PA. Looking at the latest GFS run, my Saturday may be a white one as I'll probably be coming up I-81 out of Virginia that day.
  12. Got woken up by the power going out, then back on, so a bit out of sorts at the moment. An eyeball look at conditions outside, I'd say about 3-4 inches on non-paved surfaces and 2-3 inches on the roads and sidewalks. Moderate snow falling.
  13. My station was 60 today for the high, but I'm already down to 39 at 9:30pm.
  14. Even up here in Tamaqua it's nice out. I was playing bean bag toss outside with the grandsons this afternoon.
  15. I'd be more than happy to miss south...lol
  16. I was going to stay east for the next few weeks, but seeing this, I just may take another California turn. Leaving out on Tuesday, that would bring me back home around the 17th.
  17. In Bethlehem we had a 12" April snowstorm back in 1982. Can't remember the exact date, but I do remember that it was opening day of baseball season.
  18. I'm sure he is, and usually pop ups don't bother me, but that spinning wheel one takes over the browser and is a pita to get out of.
  19. Done. I have it on my desktop, but never really had a need before on my mobile. Works good. Thanks!
  20. I purposely stayed off this site (on my phone) today because of the spinning wheel pop-up that I got last night. So, a few minutes ago I get on to see if the problem has been fixed, but it hasn't. As soon as I clicked onto this page (on my phone) the spinning wheel pop-up again took over the site rendering it uselss. It took quite a while to get another Google tab open so I could close the spinning wheel tab and get back to normal. That spinning wheel tab is the most insidious of all the pop-ups because it's so difficult to get out of, and it practically renders not only this sight, but the browser itself useless. Please guys, until you can isolate and find out which sponsor is using it, disable all pop-up ads. It's getting increasingly frustrating to have to deal with this, and I had to go back onto my desktop just to access the site and post this.
  21. I had one last night on my mobile that took me to an Amazon.com spinning prize wheel. It's tough to get back out of it. It's the first time it's happened on my phone, which was good during the previous months issue I had with the desktop.
  22. I just notice that on the radar. Wow. DC is ripping snow and you are getting rain. This is the most unbelievable winter I've ever seen...
