  1. Picked up a quick half inch in Tamaqua. I wonder where that cluster in Maryland is headed?
  2. Looking at the current radar, I can see who might end up getting shafted again...
  3. Per the CTP discussion, it looks like the rich may get richer (if you like anomalous weather) Precipitation is expected to be much less organized today but may fall over areas that have received 3+ inches of rain in the past 12-18 hours. With soils saturated in some areas, the locally heavy rain will have the potential to produce isolated flooding/runoff issues. Unlike yesterday, confidence in the QPF details is quite low. However, there appears to be a +RA signal in the 06Z HREF mean/blend QPF that would place a QPF max very close to where the highest amounts were recently observed.
  4. 1.20" here from the hybrid/noreaster. Now to see where the heaviest rains fall the rest of the week...
  5. When it come to weather, Schuylkill County is the most boring place in Central/East Pennsylvania. 0.30" here. That's it...
  6. So the Susquehanna and point west jackpot? Nothing new here... Same old same old when it comes to BIG rain events it seems.
  7. Getting a good, gully washing boomer this morning. No "Tamaqua Split" this time...
  8. I really do love this job! Today I was at the Finger Lakes Wine Festival in Watkins Glen, NY.
  9. Off topic, but I played bus driver in Manhattan yesterday...lol
  10. It's amazing how some areas seem so prone to storms, and other areas couldn't buy one if they were for sale...
  11. Man, do I ever feel your pain. I was lucky enough to be down in Bethlehem yesterday and did get to see a good storm for once, but I had to travel to do it. Had I stayed in Tamaqua, my wife probably would have kicked me out of the house. All the rain and storms totally split the borough, and when we got home I discovered that we only got 0.02" of rain. Pathetic, but that's the way it goes up here. Thankfully, visiting family (had a nice day with them) was the ticket to seeing some good CTG, heavy rain, and a little wind!
  12. I got 0.02" here. I saw video of streets just a few miles away in Schuylkill Haven (south of Pottsville) that looked like rivers.
  13. Getting slammed in Bethlehem right now. Lots of CTG strikes and heavy rain. I had to visit family in the Valley just to get away from my usual Tamaqua storm split...
  14. The chance to join in the "cuss out Voyager for the heatwave" bandwagon...
  15. 99 was where I ended up today. And if anyone doubts it, even "chilly" Hazleton got up to 96...
  16. 92 with a heat index of 101 already here in the coal region elevations. This with a muted sun due to a high cirrus layer. If we had full sun...yikes.
  17. If by the heat outlook, you may be right. What was looking like a weekend of upper 90's even up here in coal country now looks like maybe upper 80's to around 90 at best per the GFS. Outside of the I-95 heat islands, the major heat seemed to have backed off a bit...
  18. If the GFS is to believed SEPA wiill be flirting with 100 degrees this weekend...
  19. Thanks! I actually did pretty good for not being in Manhattan in over 15 years. Came out of the Lincoln Tunnel, hit 42nd St and then up 8th Ave to 50th where I drooped the group off. After picking them back up, I went over to 11th Ave and rode it down to 40th St and got back into the tunnel for the ride home. I'm sure it helped being that it was a Saturday and not a weekday. Weather-wise, it's been a few years since we had a heat advisory issued for our area. Usually Berks and Lehigh Counties have them, but we don't. I guess it's going to be pretty soupy out tomorrow.
  20. Anyone who has Facebook "should" be able to see these pics as they're public, and I was able to view them through a share. Quite frankly (and we'll have to wait for the verdict from NWS Binghamton to be sure) I don't know how the severity and nature of the damage there wouldn't have been from a tornado. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000285199891&sk=photos&collection_token=100000285199891%3A2305272732%3A69&set=a.1956219161064238.1073741987.100000285199891&type=3
