Will this turn back to snow? Hyde park Dorchester and Randolph all basically rain/mix... wondering if we should send plow trucks home or keep them out

Don't know if/when this will turn back to snow, but can't believe the town just plowed my street.  Less than an inch of slush on the roads with pouring rain.  Waste of time and money.

Where are the observations from everyone, it is snowing on the South and North Shore at least above the surface.  This is an impressive band of snow incoming!

Since I am actually on the surface, not above, I have nothing to observe except some filtered sun thru the clouds and a temperature of 17F.  Oh yeah, the birds and squirrels are hungry today and mobbing our feeders.  Those are my observations.

Milford is Amazon Distribution Central in this area. have the Fulfillment Centre down in Freetown.  Building is huge. 1.3mil square feet.

There's the Fulfillment Center down in Freetown.  Building is huge. 1.3mil square feet.

I drive by the building in Freetown often on route 24.  It just goes on and on and on.  Don't think I have ever seen a longer building.  I can imagine in raining at the southern end while still pounding snow at the north end.

Here's the high temps for ORH....the only day that remotel sniffed 50F was the 47F high in the warm sector briefly on Saturday thi past weekend. Otherwise......total snoozefest way to run a torch month.

I did see on the Channel 5 news this morning that this is now the second longest stretch of above normal days ever recorded for Boston.  But a completely boring stretch except for the cutter torches.

Those satellite images aren't going to be perfect. Trust me, I live here and work in Andover. I remember that year better than my own anniversary date. The jack was near me to about Norwell. I'm not just saying that because I live here and biased. You had 30"+ in the long duration event and over 15" from the event after. N shore didn't have that. They had near 20" in NBT in the 2/15 event, but not the long duration one.

This was our backyard in Randolph after the last storm.  Our 42" fence is nowhere to be seen back there.  The lower hook for the bird feeder is over 6' above ground.

  6. Just booked our summer rental on the Outer Cape in Eastham.  Been renting the same place for about 17 years, but had to book right away before we lost out as the owner is getting tons of requests.  He told us that so many rental properties were sold in the last year to people trying to escape the cities that the demand for what is left for rentals is thru the roof.  Book early if you want to go to the Cape!

I dunno. Seems like they are few and far between. And mostly in eastern mass. I live in central mass and there's not any around me that I know of. And 4 hours each day? That doesn't work for a lot of people. We got ours at a CVS minute clinic, and I took my daughter to get a rapid test back in October at Carewell in Auburn. It was $160.

There is a lot around here, but not sure about other areas of the state.  2:00 to 6:00 Monday thru Friday and 9:00 to 1:00 on Saturday.  Mostly staffed by volunteers who work with a medical firm that does the actual testing.  I believe registration is required, but if possible they do take unregistered drive-ins.

Most testing sites cost a lot too. Our tests were $130 a piece. So we spent $520 bucks to get us back to work and back to school.

I had 2 employees travel over T-day and they both got a test to get back to work and they paid $130 and $150. I'm not sure where all this free testing is

Lots of free testing here in Massachusetts.  My wife volunteers two days a week at the town testing site in Randolph.  The town has just expanded from twice a week to 6 days a week; 4 hours each day.  Today is one of her days, so she has the rain gear ready.

On a similar topic, I’ve tried those impossible burgers. Had it a couple of years ago. Not sure if it’s better made since then, but you can’t be the real thing. It was better than I thought...but can’t replace beef.

We get some free range red meat from a farm, but we have also been getting some excellent plant based burgers at Wegmans.  Easily the best we have tried, and absolutely no comparison to things like boca burgers, etc.

Anyone having a Thanksgiving dinner this year ?

Just my wife and I, and it looks like I will be grilling turkey breast in the rain.  At least it won't be a cold rain.  Normally we'd be going to my sister-in-law's in New Hampshire, but we all decided to stick with immediate family.
