    I heard at the San Diego Zoo, they walk a silverback gorilla out and hand it a midget with a curtain draped behind it with "Early Spring" written on one side and "Six More Weeks of San Diego" written on the other and whichever side the Midget gets slammed into is the pick.

    You ever been through Punxsutawney? Or Jefferson county? Or anywhere within a hundred miles of it? Sober people don't go there and stay. Hell, I was in Punxsy back in September for my stepkid's football game and there is a Sheetz in town with a fountain of free-flowing shitty beer that tastes like Straub diabetic beer with a sign saying "Trust uz. You're gonna need it."

    Now imagine voluntarily waking up in the middle of the night to go watch a rodent be held up like Simba to predict the weather? I'd rather climb a telephone pole wrapped in barbed wire and coated in salt.

    I hope that photoshoot wasn't for his work with the National Suicide Prevention Hotline because it may have an unintended reverse outcome.

    Dude must have pissed the Major League money away in bullshit real estate deals trying to get Tom Berenger a new house because that dude was in the 1,000th attempt to make a movie based on the Left Behind books that was directed by Hercules that went straight to YouTube.

    Maybe someday when he calls the hotline it's his voice answering on the other end of the call.

    And if the upcoming advertised pattern change either doesn't happen or doesn't deliver, somebody is going to have to offer up a eulogy for Blizzard if 93.

    The following occurs ever year: the day pitchers and catchers report, I check out on winter unless it is going to snow in a larger than nuisance volume. The downside to that is that erases my want for winter during the last part of peak winter, but I just can't get past the want for warmth and sunshine.

    A big storm would supercede that want temporarily.

    And to anybody who says "half of those guys aren't even red-taggers," blow me. I didn't choose who the god decided to touch with the gift of storytelling. Also, build an addition for my screen and I'll write to some thumb-twiddling monk in Ukiah, California to see if they'll put paint to wood and articulate an image of the dude with the breadometer.

    LR 12Z GFS also looking interesting as we head toward V-Day.   Trough coming out of Voyager land and headed toward the southeast.   An eventual Gorilla in the Gulf forms.  
    This is going to send everybody to the counter to turn dollar bills into poker chips for the "All-in" moment.

    I am a very happy fan of the team that my avatar represents this morning. This has been a long time coming. When I was growing up in the 1970s, every MLB team wanted to be like Baltimore..."The Orioles Way" was what it was referred to. The franchise that was run right and played the game right. That started fading in the 1980s...
    Baltimore, and it's baseball fans have deserved so much better for years, and today marks a new beginning with new hope a whole lot to look forward to with the talent that has been assembled. I wasn't sure I'd be around to say that I'm proud of my team again. 
    Do we know the two who made the purchase? I'd be awful hesitant of any pride until I knew the fiber of the new head.

    It could be a Rooney type whom everybody admires.

    It could be a tight ass like Nutting whom everybody seems to hate.

    Or it could be Dan Snyder.

    I was surprised to see the Birds sell. Makes sense, gorgeous ballpark, rich tradition, team with the most upside in baseball currently and probably the largest open championship window (aside from the Dodgers and Braves), all of which make the price tag a nice amount. Have a shock losing season due to injuries or MLB screwing with the baseball and that valuation goes down a mil or two.

    Now just have to win a playoff game.

    Not sure if you were here for the delusional “it never got to 90 imby” act last summer or if you’re strictly a winter poster.
    I read every post, even when I'm behind bars and have to press my ******* against glass to get attention, but I don't remember a whole hell of a lot about last summer that didn't involve my toddler trying to invent fun and new ways to give me a heart attack.

    I don't remember anybody in particular crying about a failure to reach 90 in their backyard. What kind of asshole wants that heat and the humidity it comes with around here?
