  1. I will bring a caprese salad and some cannoli from Modern
  2. Yeah. After reading subsequent posts, I recalled Eyewall’s drought of decent events. I wonder how they do on retention and snowpack? For Worcester, the areas around WPI and Assumption have some really great old houses. Worcester, while still sketchy in parts, has been turning a lot around, really great restaurants, a nice theater downtown, and the WooSox will be dumping s lot of money in there. We enjoy going there now and then. Greater Good brews nice products in Wormtown, too.
  3. That’s better than Worcester or mi casa...I always thought it was a bit of a snow hole, but I guess I am wrong
  4. Yup. My wife had one early August at a restaurant in North Conway. I was disgusted
  5. Dark beers and pumpkin spiced pumpkins incoming. Weather will have to wait a bit though
  6. Hmm...maybe our pool filter draws more than I thought, and it is typically on a timer, but I run it more than I should probably. One more month of horrific bills then we drop.
  7. At least 3 90ish days on the table next week, probably 4. I hate my job on days like that...
  8. On the squirrel front, my son was mentioning the road kill surge and pointed it out as we were driving yesterday evening. In one 30 foot stretch of Rte 2 (in front of the Aubuchon Hardware HQ), there were 6 bodies.
  9. My wife had a huge downpour in Royalston, MA on Thursday...I didn’t see anyone’s else with rain.
  10. Ours was the highest ever for our most recent bill...$287. We had added another window unit, and ran our pool filter quite a bit. I expect our next bill to be similar. It was really the humidity that was the bigger issue, last week and this upcoming week notwithstanding.
  11. Interesting. It was pretty gross in my school today, and my building was built in 2003. Some parts have AC but most of it doesn’t. I was talking to a coworker who had worked in a 5 story school building in Lawrence, his office was in the attic. He said this felt similar. We get through it, and the kids don’t really enjoy it, but it probably won’t result in deaths... and it should be a bit cooler tomorrow. I know buildings need time to cool off. Seems odd
  12. I was living in Foxboro in1988. The combo of heat and dews was brutal. I “feel” like the dews this month, plus this heat, has trumped that one....not sure how to quantify that
  13. In my lifetime, Aug 1988 was always the warmest/most humid I could recall. This has crushed that one
  14. My car thermo had a 100F in my parking lot...but I think it is a bit off. KFIT on,y managed a 92,so that is probably what my building was at. It will suck tomorrow to be sure, but it is part of the job. I don’t think we have ever closed/left early for heat. Cold a couple of times (maybe once with a couple of delays?). That’s over 19 years If you said it was too hot they would just pour you another.
  15. BOX has Leominster getting to 97 No AC. Should be a fun time
  16. In 1983, Boston recorded 30 days of 90+ This year its been 17. That’s nuts
  17. Only 81F for my high here. 90 the next 2 days looks possible
