  1. Keep trying. Lots of people qualify and limited slots. Getting better every day
  2. Australia also has a pretty strict set of internal travel restrictions.
  3. Actually, I was wrong about some of what I had thought... Per 100,000 people, as per this site, Texas, CA, and FL are mid pack, NY is in better shape and MA just a tiny bit better in terms of cases per capita. ND and RI are #1 and #2.... #1 being bad... huh... interesting Now that is for the whole pandemic. As BuffaloWeather stated, in the last week, NY has the highest rate... I wonder why that is... And another edit... RI has a higher case rate than NY for the last 7 days And another... NJ is even higher
  4. I was very surprised how they fared bad what I expected. Very happy though
  5. It will be interesting to see the post mortem on it. See what really worked and what didn’t. Pop density seems to be a big factor. Percentage of residents with underlying health conditions also seems to play a role.
  6. Again for NY the bigger issues were early on. FL and TX seem to be in a similar boat but I haven’t looked much. CA seems like a shitshow.
  7. Despite the debacles of the initial rollouts of vaccinations and websites etc in Mass, we are now doing really well. Upper tier in terms of both percentage of doses given and percentage of residents vaccinated. I think #1 for both for states with > 5 million residents (not sure there)
  8. Texas is 4th from the bottom in percentage of residents who have received 1 or more doses. Again I would give them a bit of a pass due to the issues from a couple of weeks ago
  9. Texas is also 42nd in percent of doses of vaccines administered vs what they were given. I’m guessing the power and weather issues have played a role in that.
  10. They are still averaging over 200 deaths per day (7 day avg) there. That’s pretty rough considering how things can be handled. I hope the mask thing works out for them. I really do. But not sure what the big deal is about wearing them.
  11. I dunno. Texas was averaging over 300 per day for a while. Not sure how that compares per capita to others. That surge was a few weeks ago when we knew a lot about the virus States like NJ and Mass and NY were spiking when we had no clue about what to do Don’t really care what they do really. It’s all ending soon enough. I wouldn’t follow anything Texas does though.
  12. Can't wait for the next GTG at Funky Murphy's
  13. Happy to see that I am now eligible for getting vaccinated, although I am thinking it will take me a while to find an appointment. I really think supermarket workers, etc should be ahead of me in line though
  14. Oh yeah. I recall that. Out where I live everyone uses septic systems. In towns nearby that have town sewer they don’t feed into MWRA and they don’t test that I know of
  15. The poop seems to be the most accurate predictor of trends imho. Are they doing it in other places beside MWRA? im also looking forward to warmer weather to drink beers outdoors at breweries. That was always my preference before the Vid
  16. How many people have been arrested for not wearing masks? Pretty much zero. It’s not like Covid was the flu. Over 500k Americans and counting. We did horribly here at controlling it. It should be back to normal pretty soon is my guess. Numbers are dropping in every category. Maybe not as quickly as some would like but we are getting there.
  17. 24.4F high here. Prob a -16 type departure?
  18. Individual counties can impose the mandate of cases spike
  19. If you make that bet 7 times out of 10 you would win
  20. Sleep last night was hard to come by. At one point around 1AM the wind speed and direction was enough to create a resonance in either some siding or roofing or across a gutter. Made an odd vibrating sound on two different occasions. Very strange. Never encountered that before
  21. It was very odd to go so long without cutters or torches.
