  1. Ah... gotcha... do you think there will be a second gen? I don't know how those work... I need to get the shingles one. My primary care doc hasn't ever mentioned it and I keep forgetting to ask him. I'm in my 50s... People have told me that one sucks, but having had close family that got shingles...nasty
  2. Yup... that is possible as well. See my post to Jeff. I get it... you won't be getting the shot, your kids won't. I understand that.
  3. One idea behind immunizations (flu etc) is to help protect those who are immunocompromised and cannot get vaccinated themselves. By and large the kids/teens don't seem to get very sick from Covid but it would allow them to, for example, an aunt who has cancer treatments going on who could not be vaccinated.
  4. Somewhat of a need. Not for the kids themselves as much as helping us reach herd immunity and keep it there. I don't think it should be required though.
  5. Good news regarding the Pfizer vax as tested in 12-15 year olds. 100% effective So far no serious side effects. Our daughter wanted to be part of the Moderna study but was not able to get in that group.
  6. Are you not able to run it in October? That sucks they won’t refund $ if you can’t.
  7. Back in the 1960s, before the Impossible Dream, they sometimes played in front of 300-500 fans. That’s nuts
  8. Yah. Like $300 for crappy bleacher seats. Lol. When I would go as a kid they were $2.
  9. It’s funny that they will have around 4000 fans in the stands. I’m thinking that I have been to Fenway (a long time ago) with that many or fewer.
  10. 50-55% plus those who had the virus should whack it quickly
  11. How much were tix? I saw some crazy prices for bleachers
  12. Well, capitalism will do what it will do. If a store decides to go that way and goes under that’s on them. I would not compare it to discrimination against race, religion, sex etc. I personally don’t think it would be needed for a place like a store. I think this will be largely over before that nonsense kicks in
  13. I do look forward to attending a concert, theater show, or dining indoors. Round 2 for my wife and I happening tomorrow. Still won’t rush things. I will definitely be glad when things are back to normal for my work. This has been exhausting and frustrating.
  14. I would actually not mind if sick people would just stay out of stores in general. Poor behavior of individuals sometimes leads to a mommy state. Not having someone hacking and coughing next to me has been a blessing
  15. I doubt those will be required for stores. Not sure about flights. I’m leaning no
  16. And you already need to show proof of vaccinations (not Covid) for travel to and from some parts of the world.
  17. Some businesses (cruise lines for example), might insist on some documentation. For them it makes financial sense.
  18. I think we will be ok if we can get 60-70% vaccinated. Between that and the number of previous infections we should be good. I am an internet epidemiologist
  19. Boston basically skunked for March for 2 years in a row 0.1" for this year...zero last year That is a record (albeit a weird one)
  20. Our email seems to be out but internet and phone are fine... not sure if related to winds, but I doubt it
  21. The tetanus one always knocks me for a loop. And my primary care loves giving that one to me. Not sure why.
  22. I know we will never really get to zero cases / zero deaths, but right now the US is averaging over 60k new daily cases (last 7 days) and over 1000 deaths per day. Still too high on both for me. 1000 per day is 365,000 per year which is 6x worse than a bad flu year. Round 2 of Pfizer coming up on Wednesday
  23. Not a peer reviewed study, but an article linking some studies https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2777785
