  1. Part of my neighborhood is underground. My half is above ground. But they all meet up with above ground at the end of the street so it doesn’t matter much other than asthetics
  2. Pack took a beating today for sure.
  3. Saw a story about it (burying electric utilities). I had always thought it was $1 million per mile. This report had it $4-6 million per mile. An older study had pegged Massachusetts as needed $1 trillion to bury then statewide.
  4. Oh gosh. I read that book during college back in the 1980s. I had totally forgotten about it.
  5. It was Canadian electricity anyways. Always being polite and saying “aboot” and eating poutines.
  6. GFS is rains to Maine... so you can ride that
  7. I am now. Worked for a bit in an environmental services (haz waste management) company
  8. Any feeling about the end of next week?
  9. I'm still not sure how I would grade it... At first glance it looks great with a giant storm. But so painful for much of it
  10. Feb of '34 must have been something. Jerry was in grad school by then
  11. Warning snows for you guys. But I give it about as much chance of it verifying as Chris Sale making more than 10 starts before getting hurt
  12. Euro bringing sloppy 6"+ out at hour 196. What could possibly go wrong
  13. Fiscal year ends at the end of June so we have to get all 180 in before the end of the month. If we have to eat away at April break we would. I think that only happened once (2015)...
  14. At the company I worked for a while ago we didn't used to cancel for snowstorms. Then we got a new branch manager. He had made his secretary drive into work in NJ one snowy/icy day. She was killed either coming into work or going home. He never had people come in during snow/ice if he could avoid it after that. We still did work in the snow though. I recall being at a site on Beverly harbor when we were getting dumped on and the winds were awful. I froze. The ride back to Marlboro in a sketchy hazardous waste truck was not fun
  15. In la-la-land with a crappy model, but the 12z CMC has a nice storm at D8/D9 The older Euro (0z) hinted at it, but I wouldn't get too excited about it
  16. We rarely had them when I was in middle and high school. I did have over 3 weeks off when the Blizzard of '78 caved in the roof of my elementary school and they had to open a mothballed school.
  17. I might have made a mistake. Maybe its been only 5? My wife is still in school until June 27th
  18. I don't know what you are talking about... it's been a great winter... ...(ducks for cover)
  19. The 29.5" from the Pi Day storm was one of my top 5 snowfall events I have witnessed. Maybe in my top 3, but my memory isn't great. The only 2 I can recall that were greater were the 1978 Blizzard (I was living in Foxboro) with probably over 40", and the 1997 April Fools Day storm (I was living in Gardner MA) and had 36". Seasonal is now 87.25" which is significantly above normal
  20. Had to park in Row 15. But not Lot 3 at least
