Subtropical Storm Alpha has formed. Heading to Portugal. So the Gulf storm would be Beta. Gets confusing with the Greek Alphabet because after Beta it's Gamma then Delta.
Euro also develops the Gulf system. Has it drifting around coming west to about Brownsville and then recurves ENE and comes ashore in Louisiana as a 986mb storm.
12Z Euro. Let's end this drought in a big way. I guess just got to slow down Teddy a bit and strengthen the high to the northeast of us. Have the storm come in from a SE to NW direction over the Gulf Stream.
41F for a low. Colder lows coming for the weekend but I stay toasty up on the hill. Widespread frosts/freezes to the coast have to happen before I frost up here. The settlers of 1795 sure knew where to site houses to extent growing seasons on both ends.
Thank you Alex. The new camera is great. I can even see the rain drops splashing in the water. Now I can watch the snow line on Mt Washington and the leaves turn. It will happen fast now that your going to be having nightly frosts. You had a great summer. Seemed like less upslope clouds with endless sunshine with super warm temperatures.
I'll give you a call soon to catchup on things

It's Mid September so it's time for a NNE cold season thread. Let's hope for lots of storms!
To start the thread off I'll ask a question. How is COVID going to affect the ski industry? Could be tough with lots of people breathing on each other in lodges. On the other hand this was a busy tourist season (at least in the Lakes Region of NH) so maybe people are more apt to stay local in New England and not travel to warmer climates?? Thoughts?
Interesting picture. This one was taken from a jet. At first it seemed odd the pyrocumulous didn't match up to the fire but this shows the same thing. Probably the same anvil and fire.
937mb. Port Arthur is going to take a beating. Wonder if heating oil is produced there? Maybe time to quickly fill up the oil tanks before prices go up the next few days??
"either way, this may as well be black-and-white, wan-drawn couple of faces making eggs in a struggling economic kitchen, while an off-set homaged cigarette smoking clown sits behind them"
This is pure TT language. Love it
I think Isaias now warrants it's own thread. Just made one up. Could be an over achiever really getting it's act together this afternoon. Why don't we take conversation over there.
As I say over and over on this board, Im not Met but to me Isaias really look like he is getting his act together. Sat Vis looks impressive and radar showing wrapping around the center. Perhaps this is going to go through a brief period of pretty rapid deepening? This is sure not a naked swirl coming up the coast. I wonder if this is going to be an overachiever? So many SNE storms go SE of us but a storm accelerating north up the coast and going just west on this track will surprise some. I think this will be a big overachiever and I don't usually say that.
Isaias is starting to look better to me. Deep convection is wrapping around the eye feature. Still moving slight west of north but the turn soon to help with shear. Recon had pressure at 1001 and now back down a bit to 1000.
