    This busting will hurt because

    a) This is probably it for the metros

    b) The metros will fail to go above climo

    and

    c) Next year being a Nina will probably make it a wall to wall torch for the eastern US and very well a repeat of last year.

Look at the positive. You guys had two over performing storms. Us in the triangle of hell have under performed in both.

Remember that rug pull like March 8 2018. Euro, NAM both, GFS, RGEM GGEM all had 4-8” across MD from that miller b?  Then the HRRR started showing nothing…with the precip shield developing like 75 miles northeast if what all other guidance had. I remember us both saying to each other, We’ll die on the hill with the euro et all. No way all guidance is that wrong from like 12 hours and hrrr is right. Well… still waiting for my 4-8” from that one.

Not saying I buy the hrrr and rap. We could cite 100 other times they were off on a crazy tangent. But I never ever feel comfortable unless we’re in the bullseye of some hecs with 20” 75 miles either side of me heading into it.  It’s slightly troubling and perplexing they are trending worse as we get closer.

People like to pretend it’s safe as some coping mechanism but I’ve had enough rug pulls and I guess I’m not a cops by lying to myself type.

Was this the same storm that screw NYC

Arlington has already closed all school buildings tomorrow and cancelled all activities and sporting events.

So did Baltimore County... At least for this they could have waited until tomorrow.  When the schools close their facilities... it affects all rec programs that use the schools as well.

50 currently downtown. LOL. blew past the projected high of 46. Typical DC  winter M.O. now... watch it cloud over just in time for sunset and then watch for the 1 degree drop every 4 hours. Will see what wet bulbs are with the low later with the low dews. But it's always just so warm in the immediate metro.

I was just over my expect high for today... was supposed to be 44 and I hit 44.8... down to 43.5/21.4 now

That band they are focused on up there is long gone. That’s not ours.  But the snow band for us is associated with the mid level fgen and better deep moisture transport. We just have to hope the CAMs are keying too much on that banding up in PA associated with the lift along the arctic boundary and are underdoing the southern max.

Yeah but yesterday you said don't hone in on the south max... you want the northern max

I recall the euro showing a drier run before events in the past.  I also recall this guy named Zwyts that would be the voice of reason as the forum went into a meltdown.  Point is that I am not too worried about one run of a global this close to game time.

Yeah but the RAP/HRRR and RGEM are also on the lower end as well.
