  1. A lot of families live together across three generations, not to mention the potential for poor ventilation. I'm not convinced it would be much worse if society was going about their business but just social distancing as much as they can
  2. I think it's been a week and a half since we really started seeing action to lockdown.
  3. That sounds like the most balanced take on it. Hopefully he's right about the decline after the next eight weeks.
  4. Yeah, anything that can ease the suffering and impact of the virus would be welcome.
  5. If we don't find a drug that works like that malaria drug that may work it could be until a vaccine comes out that we are instructed to social distance (12-18 months)
  6. She’s far from the only one with that belief, given flu and I think Pneumonia deaths being up from past winters and my own experience with a flu/cough.
  7. I wonder at what point does it hurt the country too much to go this route? To think we hurt the economy and homebound citizens for months on end, philosophically you can make a very good argument for Britain’s strategy of herd immunity.
  8. Northern Italy isn't exactly warm this time of year. Touristy places would also counteract that, and these are areas that were popular with tourists when this started to spread. I grant your Australia inclusion though.
  9. Well it's the first event where all sports are canceled until further notice in our lifetimes I believe (September 11th was similar, but just short term).
  10. Yeah, I'm a little concerned. When you're mostly homebound, Americans normally at least have sports and entertainment to consume. There will be very little of that for awhile. Shame it is coming when we turn to Spring and the weather is getting nicer too.
  11. May isn’t exactly a sunny month around here at least. Cold rain events are still oh too common.
  12. Nice! It seems like most of the meteorologists around the area got their degree at UW. Looking forward to this winter of tracking!

  14. Yes, but I don't think you understand how some of this stuff is out of each individual's control. Imagine houses that don't have basements and are swept off their foundations. You're telling me if the people in those houses don't survive it's their fault b/c they didn't heed the warnings?
