  1. 72 here for the overnight low. I think we see 75-77 here today. Upton has a high of 69 here that is busting hard.
  2. NJ is such a special place for heat and dews. I'm down in the Newark area and it was 78 when I woke up and its currently 88/72 at Newark. The heat seems to be over performing down here with Uptons high of 90 already almost reached this morning.
  3. Yeah. Looks like just one day of low 70s on Sat here.
  4. Its been way above normal here on the shoreline. HVN is +3.8. At my location I have hit 80+ almost everyday this month. Only below 80 high days here are June 1,3,5,12. Cooling degree days are currently double the average as well. AC has been running hard this month.
  5. Caught these last night on a private lake in NJ.
  6. I saw a few laying eggs on the beach at our lake cabin in NJ this week when I was walking the dog. Someone saw a fox digging up the eggs last night. They must be a delicacy to a fox as he went crazy digging to get every egg. I was curious on the survival rate and found this on Google. Unfortunately, even under ideal circumstances, turtle nests don’t do very well. Only 5 percent of eggs laid survive to hatch; and of those only 1 percent may survive to reproductive age. So, take the snapping turtle for example. An average clutch size might be 30 eggs. So, out of three snapping turtle nests, maybe 5 eggs will hatch out baby snappers. Of those, maybe 1 or 2 will live to the age of 7 or 8 years, which is likely the minimum age for a female snapper to lay eggs. Those aren’t very good odds.
  7. Maybe we can rival July 2019. From Uptons AFD July 20th. Even overnight, the urban corridor and coastal sections will see dewpoints in the mid 80s to around 90.
  8. 60+ dews for all except BDL, DXR and GON.
  9. Yeah. That area has been getting crushed.
  10. Radar lines up perfectly with the CT drought map. DXR reporting 2.02 the last hour. Middletown and Bristol have been getting dumped on the last hour as well.
  11. Yeah. I just drove down 91 from Hartford to New Haven and it was like 76-78 the whole ride with dews close to 70. Sun was popping out as well.
  12. It was completely sunny and nice here until like 2 pm. Had a high of 68.
  13. The fishing was incredible here yesterday after the storms moved out.
  14. You must feel so relieved now that the pressure has eased for watering up that way..
  15. This is how you dew it. My rescue Chihuahua/Dachshund from Mississippi was in his glory yesterday. Specifically picks the hottest black part of the patio to embrace his dews.
  16. Suns out here and the dews here are spectacular. I think everyone is in for a special treat soon when all of New England is under full sun.
  17. Well said. At what age do you think you embrace the dews. Late 30's or early 40's?
  18. What a bust on shoreline temps here. Every day has been close to +10 above Upton's forecast.
  19. Those Midea units have absolutely stunning efficiency. Variable capacity inverter compressors are the future of heating and cooling. America is stupidly slow to adapt to the technology. 90% of Asia and Europe have been using inverter driven compressors for the last decade. My mini split is rated at an insane 38 seer. Nearly 4 times the efficiency of a whole house ac or window unit. It can move heat in the summer at a COP (coefficient of performance) of 8.79. Thats an effective thermodynamic efficiency 879%. In the winter I can heat my house when its 5 degrees out at twice the efficiency of any fossil fuel source of heat. Add in some solar and your fuel is essentially free.
  20. So I won't have to turn on my irrigation?
  21. Those Midea units have absolutely stunning efficiency. Variable capacity inverter DC driven compressors in a window unit. Its basically a mini split in a window unit.
