@weatherwiz 3 years ago the same veterans party got hit by this in Branford. 9 tornadoes in the OKX forecast area that day.. Summary A narrow tornado path of 25 yard width began near Pine Orchard and Oak Hollow Roads and continued northeast with uprooted hardwood trees showing evidence of a convergent damage pattern. The damage path widened to 300 yards at the Francis Walsh Intermediate School field where several light tower generators were all toppled by straight line winds while the eastern 100 yards of this area along Sunset Hill Drive continued to show a convergent damage pattern. The tornado continued on toward the top of Whiting Hill Road where the path narrowed to about 75 yards and the most intense damage occurred where some pine trees in a loop at the top of the road were snapped in two. The damage path continued northeast to Gould Rd where the tornado apparently lifted just before reaching the Governor John Davis lodge turnpike. The heating oil and natural gas futures for Jan/Feb are crazy low. There's a few billion dollars hedging for a warm winter...

I bought my panels in cash 8 years ago and they reached their return on investment in less than 5 years. They have been producing around $2.8k a year in basically free electricity. My electricity bill has been the $9 minimum service charge every month. The satisfaction of telling Eversource to fuck off has been the best part of it. New England has the highest electricity rates in the lower 48. Solar makes a ton of sense here...

Something similar happened here. Some guy killed his ex and then took his own life. Family/friends were contacting the police with concerns for months leading up to it. The cops did nothing and my town is facing unprecedented lawsuits that will be very easy to win based off the fact they did absolutely nothing.

I remember when Bolton Valley put up the wind turbine. I had a season pass and that thing was always cranking in the winter when I was there. I remember talking to someone about it and they said the wind often gets too high and it locks the blades for safety. There is some serious wind potential on the western slope of the greens. Does Stowe have any wind power?

I lived in Burlington VT in the late 90s early 2000s and worked at Smugglers Notch one winter. I remember seeing like 5 or 6 diesel powered air compressors running to make snow. The operations guy said Green Mountain power couldn't deliver enough electricity to run the compressors. Those compressors were belching out thick diesel exhaust and the amount of energy the ops guys told me was consumed to blow snow was absurd.

I was working on a house in Tolland last week off 140 near Lake Shenipsit. What a weenie spot up there for elevation. Some great colors on the swamp maples around there but noticed all the brown.

What a year for mushrooms. My 81 year old aunt who is a vegetarian said she's never seen a better harvest..
