  1. Hugest slug of rain ever to our west after a hot crackly day is awesome!
  2. The sky reminds me of orange sherbert.
  3. Wow! Mother nature really knows how to shut the door in your face. Rain is struggling to get north of DC. Shower trajectory looks promising and then they just evaporate.
  4. What in the rain gods is this random shower popping up threatening my first ever backyard movie night?
  5. Lots of lightening in Adelphi. More than I've seen in a few years. Great light show for the kids.
  6. 3.24" for the week. 6.57" for the month.
  7. Got a solid 1.27in of rain out of those storms. Perfect for summer. Rain, thunder, with no wind damage. My kind of storm.
  8. 1.97 inches of rain yesterday. Awesome! My lawn is wet with tears of joy!
  9. I have 3.30in of rain so far this week. I am in good shape for now. But my grass is so weak it wouldn't take much to fry it.
  10. I randomly look at my radar this morning seeing if it was going to rain and saw Arthur swirling around in the Atlantic. This is a nice surprise and a nice break from pandemic news. Can't imagine if people have to be evacuated during this pandemic.
  11. Will this affect my afternoon run? Just kidding. But I do have a question. Those winds in DE look scary. Cat 1 type winds. Will we see those here? Hell, even 50mph winds would be scary in the DC area after such heavy rains last night.
  12. How many people have decided to install Zoysia grass? I learned from some people in NC that Zoysia grass is great for drought-prone areas. Our area is not necessarily known for droughts, but I think it would be nice to have when we get these hot dry spells that last for a few weeks that turns regular fescue brown. I hear Zoysia maintains it's color. Now, I have an established tall fescue lawn, if I started Zoysia seeding this fall, I'm assuming it will take a few years before the Zoysia grass takes over? Or would I need to dig up my current lawn and start fresh with Zoysia?
  13. I might end up with an inch after my second shovel. I still see fat flakes in the street lights. Temps are forecast to be above freezing tomorrow. So, at least that will help the sidewalks and steps.
  14. Well, this storm easily passed my baseline of 5" for respectable snow! I just finished my second round of shoveling. Even took my son out for a Jebwalk this afternoon!
  15. Snurring. IT's cold. Pulled a back muscle this morning at the gym. Real smart just before having to shovel snow.
  16. Felt it in Silver Spring. At first I thought it was someone running on the floor, then it kept going and getting stronger. Funny, peoples' heads popped up out of their cubes like prairie dogs. lol Worst earthquake of my life. Actually saw the columns of the building swaying. On the third floor about 500 feet from the nearest stairwell. If the building fell, I wouldn't have made it. Hope this doesn't become a yearly thing. My nerves can't handle this.
