  1. yeah I got 3 notifications in the last hour, they changed now to 2-6 days... I'm sorry, didn't we spend millions about a decade ago clearing up trees anywhere close to major transmission lines to that never happened again after 2011?? jacking rates up for it too. I understand if you're remote and it's still unworkable but at this point nobody outside a few boondocks people should be out more than 2 days
  2. boss band through ACY right now, down to dover moving north
  3. flake size improving, visibility decreasing, about 3 hours earlier than I expected there to be steady SN, albeit light atm, but about a half inch new so far, starting to see so nice banding setting up south of LI
  4. need that to collapse east some, I don't want to suck shit snow growth for 36 hours again
  5. yup that's the one! love this video, like a child discovering something new
  6. my wife just asked me if that's the guy I made her watch the video of him I think it was either Worcester or Boston going crazy over it.
  7. that is an awesome idea, my wife threw away our plastic one years ago, only wood now, will have to get one just for snow measuring... not in Waterbury anymore so I'm probably safe it won't get stole
  8. I used to have a 2x2 foot plywood with white lexan over it but it got stolen believe it or not, so I just use a 2' sq piece with saran wrap
  9. well they caved... whole state now under a warning, yeah!
  10. yup, I have a feeling they may join Box and Upton and upgrade, just so the whole state is covered, can't imagine eastern Litchfield cty doesn't at least experience blizzard conditions, latest AFD even mentioned it
  11. looking like between 5-7 start time here, ramps up overnight, meaning I should wake up to over a foot if all holds... that's if I sleep...
  12. now to get ALY on board and cover the state with the warning... I'm still weary, I've been down this road before, hope it stays course and doesn't rug pull last minute, or we subby suck for hours while it pukes flakes 10 miles away
  13. yeah my dad has a similar one of me in Waterbury during clean up, we lived in very close 3 family homes and there was a drift up to the second floor porch in our backyard, the way the wind whipped and swirled amazing drifts, I remember standing under a wave drift after 96 clearing for my grandma, just hoping this stays course and we get good banding rotting over head here puking flakes for hours...
  14. my wife works at s&s in Torrington, was mobbed Fri and said it's getting crazy now... still no warning from ALY, odd
  15. kinda surprised ALY has yet to issue a warning for at least southern Litchfield cty... looking very likely 12-20 across the state, Blizzard warning and WSW already up from Upton to BOX...
  16. 2013 redux? mega banding and deform just pivoting and rotting over our head would be outstanding! watches should be up by ALY by now I would have thought. gonna be some verify blizzard conditions on the coast and possibly away from it as well. only time I've seen blizzard conditions verify away from the coast is 78, unless I'm forgetting something.
  17. I just took a ride to Meriden from here, was doing nothing when I left, began a light mix in thomaston on the way south, was wet all the way to Meriden, on the way back, mixed bag in Waterbury, accumulated sleet and snow on the highway in thomaston and some moron started fishtailing right in front of me and then proceeded to spin out and hit the wall... just north of Torrington all cat paws for over an hour and about 2" at least down all snow, crazy mix driving through it
  18. I'll take a 3/17 here all day long, that was a great storm here anyway.
  19. still about 36-48 hours to onset, don't know if this can come any further NW or N, but it can still trend back SE, let's hope we get consistent runs from here on to go time.
  20. yeah that sucked, but I think 1/15 was worse because I knew 1/22 wasn't coming back this way off the jump, 1/15 looked good region wide, while it was better than 1/22 in terms of accumulating snow, it was sand for a good portion while SE areas cashed in big, that sucked bad just watching it dump and pivot east of my area
