  1. briefly white out conditions here choking flakes and vis down to feet
  2. that west band is really producing goods, albeit not like that one over RI and SEMA, good lord.
  3. eyeballing about 11-12 out there, will do an official measure at 9 but damn that band out east holy
  4. looking like the western extent of the goods is about the HRV, bands seem to die out there
  5. eyeballing about 4" and choking flakes right now, hopefully this rate continues for a grip and I'll definitely hit at least a foot here, good luck all I'm falling out soon...
  6. I was one of those who volunteered to drive hospital and home nurse type folk in, I had just bought a 4WD AWD vehicle and it was glorious driving around, after I dropped a few off, my buddies and I went Waterbury dive bar hopping, still I think the heaviest I've seen as far as rates was that night driving by the glow of the street lights, I think 2013 was better but I didn't see it personally as I was asleep
  7. windy and snow picking up, Woodford and a splash of ginger to get started right, game on folks! so far about 1/2" since this morning but it really just started, hoping to stay up as long as I can
  8. wind is starting to whip up here with some random decent flakes, game time folks, LFG!
  9. anyone checked the pressure drops recently? bouy data etc? just curious
  10. CT SOE in effect now as well in case anyone didn't know, cause I didn't until I got the notification...
  11. sort of like CAPE value? I've wondered myself the difference. TIA
  12. nice band forming along 84ish, main stuff looks like it's about over LI right now, Tom's River radar is lit
  13. Woodford is ready... usually not until after 5 tho, I can't wait for some good rates later like NJ and DE now... hopefully
  14. Jesus seriously? I do remember people bitching about it when they started, taking the "charm" away from some neighborhoods etc, but they also complained when that charm was all over the wires and roads in 2011 and beyond.. anyway still lightly snowing here, looks good south, as this deepens
  15. was that the tropical storm that zoomed through here at like 60mph? yeah we lost a couple limbs on that one damaged the garage, but I remember after 2011, Irene and the storm in Oct, the state set aside billions, eversource also, to trim all residential and main trans lines. I've got people yelling at me that it's no big deal, it's not even snowing... I can't win with people who don't have any weather knowledge whatsoever and rely on Google p/c forecast or don't listen when I say "overnight" tonight... unbelievable
  16. yo this is no joke I went to the store around 1 I think and it was a mad house, people were actually valet jogging to get items...so, bread milk eggs and TP...are they going to just make omelettes and go to the bathroom until the coast is clear?
  17. yeah I got 3 notifications in the last hour, they changed now to 2-6 days... I'm sorry, didn't we spend millions about a decade ago clearing up trees anywhere close to major transmission lines to that never happened again after 2011?? jacking rates up for it too. I understand if you're remote and it's still unworkable but at this point nobody outside a few boondocks people should be out more than 2 days
  18. boss band through ACY right now, down to dover moving north
  19. flake size improving, visibility decreasing, about 3 hours earlier than I expected there to be steady SN, albeit light atm, but about a half inch new so far, starting to see so nice banding setting up south of LI
  20. need that to collapse east some, I don't want to suck shit snow growth for 36 hours again
  21. yup that's the one! love this video, like a child discovering something new
  22. my wife just asked me if that's the guy I made her watch the video of him I think it was either Worcester or Boston going crazy over it.
  23. that is an awesome idea, my wife threw away our plastic one years ago, only wood now, will have to get one just for snow measuring... not in Waterbury anymore so I'm probably safe it won't get stole
