  1. THIS!^ Read the 5:00PM NHC update Animal and maybe you'll start to understand the concern a bit more.
  2. because downplaying a storm that has the size wind field that this one has AND which is forecasted to parallel the coast for 24 hours at a snails pace seems extremely uneducated and if the media discussed it as you laid out people likely lose their lives.
  3. microwave still seems to be fading...I'd guess there is likely no room now for further strengthening. The big story will still be the shear size of the windfield and stall along the coast along with heavy rainfall.
  4. indeed, but I think that microwave may have an issue as well. in the later frames there is an issue that is clearly visible and may be impacting the visual interpretation: GOES imagery not nearly as bad of an open eyewal:
  5. Beautiful outflow. Have to believe we see some strengthening today.......
  6. Look, will the storm likely weaken as it slows down just off the coast? Sure , most likely, but that doesn't diminish the effects, it just changes them. When have you last seen a Cat 3 hurricane slow to a crawl and even stall just off the coast as some of the models are depicting (with several placing the eyewall on the the coast for multiple hours)? This storm has the "potential" to be far more devastating then even a full on landfalling Cat 4 hurricane simply due to the shear amount of time the effects may be felt along such a large portion of the coastline. Its going to be interesting regardless and certainly should not be downplayed.
  7. LOL over 35K posts and nearly everyone agrees you are the worst...that should tell you something
  8. ....and not allow it to leave.....high tide after high tide...
  9. I really don't think folks like Snow88 understand the truly devastating impact a stalled meandering cat4/3/2 hurricane just off the coast of the Carolinas will mean for those folks. This is truly unprecedented.
  10. he is quite frankly the worst poster in the NY forum, so it doesn't surprise me his comment.....
  11. And trees/lack of asphalt/lack of development/etc.
  12. should be an interesting Saturday in OCNJ
  13. Well whatever it was it had quite the radar presentation. From SW to NE. Gone now that there are storms over it
  14. Is there a huge fire west of Norfolk? Showing up on radar
  15. May need to tread lightly here with this ^ post. Making yourself look a tad silly. Stick to weather and try and fight this battle in the Climate section (you won't do well as nearly every scientist agrees with the science and understands our impacts on climate)
  16. Interesting. I hope everyone is right about the cold Dec. I enjoy a white Xmas like the rest of us.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. This departure from normal in global sea ice has really blown up on social media and I'd expect the mainstream media to pick it up really soon. Be curious to see what the Trump admin. would have to say about this, especially if we don't see a sizable shift in the winter months for the artic and the melt season come Spring starts off really bad.
  18. I am guessing they will bust in our area based on the overall consensus.
