So both are in school 4 days? We'll be doing just 2. M-T in school, off W, and remote T-F.

Our District did a phased in opening which started a few weeks back. My daughter is still at home since she's a senior and the last cohort to go back. She starts December 7th. All teachers have been teaching from the classroom since day 1 though. The workload is back to as if they were in class so she's definitely busy, and learning, which is a plus. I feel for families with younger kids who have to work. No idea how that gets accomplished if you have to go to work and schools are remote. It's a mess.

I never stated the Sturgis and Trump rallies were killing people. They were certainly super-spreader events that lead to an increase in cases though. Just like all the celebrations across the Country that occurred over the weekend. Those will lead to increased cases.

We're not shutting everything down like we did before but we are going to see a more concerted effort from the top down to mitigate with whatever measures can be done to draw out this virus at a reduced level so as to not overwhelm the healthcare system again.

What's your point? There were parties in every single community across the country last week. Some public and many more were likely private.

Why are you singling out DC? It doesn't matter where you voted in person, If you didn't wear a mask while waiting, or inside the facility, you placed yourself and other at risk. People are becoming sloppy with masks and hygiene and we're reaping the actions from it. A sharp rise in all metrics on the virus. We knew this was going to happen as we had to test the waters to see what would occur as we opened back up. The virus is still as transmissible and deadly as it was when it was first introduced to the Country. My initial stance stands of what we need to do until we have a vaccine.

Can blame the spread on a lot of things. I'm sure the election day itself has played a role in case increases.

People that are getting infected the most are NOT wearings masks. They're contracting the virus as social gatherings, schools, restaurants, bars, etc. Wearing a mask reduces exposure and possibility of becoming infected.

At this point all we can do is take all the necessary precautions to minimize/mitigate our exposure by following the basic protocols. Pandora's box has been opened once we opened up the Country again. We're in a transitional time until a vaccine becomes available that will reduce risk more but not eliminate it. I fell this will become another "seasonal" virus, bit one that occurs year round. Maybe over the long haul, we are able to build up a herd immunity, but I feel that's a long ways off.

Still unwatchable. Made it thru 1 quarter before I bailed.

I tried to watch that for a bit over the last several days, and it was like watching Martian TV. They're living in a completely different realm that all the other major networks.

It was a great segment to watch. The General made no reference to the specific amount of vaccine they have stockpiled so as to not open up any avenues of question on it. They went over the logistics of the storage facilities and the type saying dry ice is the way it has to be stored. They also went over the computer system that was developed solely for the purpose of monitoring and tracking the virus and vaccines. It has all the facilities that would store the virus and all the locations where you could receive from hospitals to clinics to pharmacies. The system didn't exist several months ago and has yet to be fully tested, which will occur only once the vaccines are distributed and given.

Did you see the 60 Minutes segment in the link I posted earlier? They go through the whole process. There's already a stockpile of vaccines at the ready for whenever the approval is given for use.

I never said you did. Others are accusing them though.

There's a difference between a healthy dose of skepticism vs accusing them of rushing a drug to market without checks/balances. Past history does not predict future outcomes or events.
