  1. Let's hope Debby moves fast, and stays relatively weak.
  2. No storm post, George BM? You just broke my heart.
  3. Hopefully it gets picked up and swept northeast.
  4. I will tell you what is surprising. Us getting more rain, than some parts of N VA have had this year. We will see big rain events all across the South especially as we are now moving into August. We have also seen a lot more upper 70s dewpoints this summer.
  5. Yep Houston tends to get hit by a lot of the tropical activity, particularly in the autumn.
  6. The one in the west, if it moved to that position, would cause a huge rainband to drench south central Texas with Brobdingnagian amounts of efficient tropical rain and plunging our region into a super Uber Quagmire for all-time. We already have had 37 inches this year. NORMAL rainfall in Buda for 365 days is 30 inches. I just spent 3 hours today mowing 14 inch grasses near the pool. This is April-May, in late July! We'd all need Bayou airboats to get around in central Texas lol.
  7. Tua Tagovailoa is gonna make 212 million in 4 years with the Miami Dolphins! https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40665874/tua-tagovailoa-thankful-dolphins-showed-money
  8. Yeah, I got a REAL REAL BAD feeling about this. WE do NOT need a tropical dump of rain in central Texas in August. We are already so waterlogged. Its a quagmire down here. We got sacked by Brobdingnagian amounts of rain, especially for this time of the year. If this was a football game the quarterback would be in intensive care and out for at least the entire season.
  9. I simply can not resist any longer. I really feel the Need to gloat. Dale City has had 27.48 inches of rain this year. Buda, has had nearly 37 inches since Jan 1 2024. Wow it is SO HARD TO BELIEVE! Grass and weeds are going nuts! I am having a HARD TIME keeping our yard clear of weeds! Some weeds along our back roads are getting eight, nine feet tall! WE are almost ten inches more than my old stomping grounds! I can hardly believe it! Here it is JULY, and we have had EIGHT INCHES of rain for the month, 5.3 inches of it just in the past three day storm cycle! Storm Cycle! It sounds like Palisades Tahoe in the '22-'23 Winter! We are getting George BM'ed by rain this year! No dangerous lightning. No high winds. No hail. Just nice heavy life giving sweet rain!
  10. You guys have good rain chances there. Next 2 to 3 days, could end up with 2 to 3 inches.
  11. Buda and Kyle are a quagmire. We have been flooded with 5 inches just in this storm cycle. Is this really late July in south central Texas? We have weeds along back roads easily nine feet tall. This is beginning to remind me of 2007. We have had about 37 inches this year. Weeds and grasses in my yard are ridiculous. We are getting hit by yet more rain even as I write this. We are getting George BM'd by rain. We may have even more tomorrow and Weds.
  12. I hope that map is correct. I want you guys to get shellacked!
  13. Got two MORE inches rain today! WE have now had 33.4 inches this year! Some weeds along Rt 1626 in Buda/Kyle are over 6 feet tall! We have had FIVE INCHES of rain just in JULY!!! Even MORE rain is expected Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! WE are just PILING it up like Palisades Tahoe piles up snow!
  14. Thanks for the coverage! I loved lookin at all those big waves in the Gulf!
  15. I am jealous of all your cool weather. What makes me TRULY jealous is that you are up in the Yukon Territories, that place is Jack London, Call of the Wild country!
  16. You guys are gonna be swimming down there if you get all those TC's
  17. We gotta keep a weather eye on those Invests. Gonna be a very busy summer and fall in the tropics
  18. Benchmark, snowstorms in the SNE are not the only thing you are good at forecasting! Wow, tropical storms too! Excellent job!
  19. Don't come to TX. You will REALLY MELT down here, lol.
  20. I am fully content. It hit 99 today with wall to wall sunshine and I got the bajorkas worked out of me installing a new fence in the Texas sun. Few high cirrus. Same for tomorrow, highs in the upper 90s. Beryl is thankfully so far east, we got a tenth of an inch of rain in the forecast or none at all. Not to make light of Beryl hitting Houston or the Matagorda regions but hopefully the storm stays 60 mph and hits the land then decays and dumps harmless rains and gets picked up by the trough. We were very fortunate this thing got torn up by the Yucatan, dry air and shear. We could have had a Cat 5 160 mph TC smacking Houston per usual. No good at all. In the summer, here in south Texas I am a fully realized warminista. Its dry and plenty hot. I work outside in this stuff every day, too.
  21. You are NO wannabe, George BM. You need to attend Met school STAT. We need your help. Weather will become more interesting with time. The high SSTs will not help.
  22. Okay thundershowers entirely unrelated to Beryl dumped 2 inches on Buda today. Wind gusted to 25 mph at times. This now puts us at 30.2 inches for the year. Normal annual rainfall here is thirty inches. This area of rain looks like a kind of convergence zone, it is not moving but just keeps on redeveloping right on top of us, over a rather large area of south Texas right now. Austin and Houston are right in the thick of it.
