  1. Yeah I remember that storm even down in Dale City VA, the radar just exploded, got windy and lots of snow, snow blowin all over. It got snow all over my shoveled driveway and walk, I was forced to do it all over again lmao!
  2. Three feet of snow. I'd love to go dig them out so bad...........
  3. They got this crazy death band that just keeps on producing. Wild, wild subforum up there, snow rates to absolutely die for!
  4. I hope you get TOTALLY OBLITERATED! Completely DESTROYED! Lets park the dethband over your 'hood for a couple of days.
  5. CONGRATS! It WILL hold thru Christmas! This, is ONLY the beginning. This is the start of a winter that shall be long remembered in the Mid Atlantic, and torrential snows are coming soon to places that saw mix or rain today. You can Bank on it! Better Yet, Bank on Bitcoin lol! It hit 22000 today! Thats up 2500 just in the past 9 hours! Dont forget to pile that snow up HIGH on the north side of sunlight-blocking objects like your house! Pile it super high! Make sure everyone KNOWS you worship snow!
  6. Stephens City will get shellacked and totally annihilated.
  7. You're gonna get totally SHELLACKED by heavy snow.
  8. Mountain Geek - I think you live in the higher elevations. You're probably gonna exceed a foot.
  9. I dont mean to be an overexcited snow weenie here, but I just read that Prince William County in Virginia is under a Winter Storm Watch for MORE than 5 inches of snow! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-----HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. This storm presents a resplendent opportunity to take a drive up Rt 28, north to Rt 7, over the Skyway to the West Bypass Rt 7 and on up to and over Rt 9, clear to the West Virginia State Line. You will see incredible gradations of increases in snow all along the way. Dale City will get plenty of snow, with maybe a little sleet, but if you choose to watch it from Charles Town West Virginia, it will present jebwalk prime conditions as close to 20 inches of the white gold pile up!
  11. Hope you are in good jebwalkin' shape. Don't look now, but ANOTHER weather system is gonna smash into y'all later, as a storm passes off the NC Coast later this week. This will be a snowy FRIGID Winter long remembered throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan region! The Reaper is definitely gonna retire. He's gonna be fresh out of work. There's going to be way too much snow, for him to even have a hope of Reapin' anyone.
  12. The pandemic has really turbocharged the teleworking revolution.
  13. What we should be asking ourselves about this new weather map starting on Dec 16, is why are the graphics so downgraded? Is this because after Dec 16, you have to PAY to get the old weather maps on the NWS? https://www.weather.gov/radarfaq https://preview-radar.weather.gov I think I am gonna really love the retro look to precip in motion! It's so 1995! Nice and herky-jerky lol! Brings back really great memories about the Winter of 1995-1996!
  14. I am really pulling for you guys on this! I hope it overperforms beyond all of your wildest dreams. Snow, snow, and more snow!
  15. Nice to see you back, DT, although these days I am hailing from Central Texas, lol. That's not gonna stop me from pulling for torrential snows for the Mid Atlantic, though.
  16. 15" of 8:1 is going to be a bitch to shovel and snowblow. Lots of heart attacks coming Dont make me have to come up there and show you how to shovel heavy wet snow!
  17. December is forecast to be much above normal temperature wise here in TX. So there will be a trough in the East supporting snow. That may become a semi permanent feature come January 2021..........
  18. BWI: 32" DCA: 24" IAD: 44" RIC: 21" Tiebreaker SBY: 22" This will be a frigid and snowy winter long remembered in the Washington DC Metropolitan Region overall. Its going to be a Brobdingnagian Surprise.
  19. I dont really know what to do to prevent the shorting out probs, but being poor is a good solution. I am too poor to afford outdoor Christmas lights. Problem solved - for me lol
  20. Has anyone checked out the "new" weather maps that will be online on Dec 8? They are terrible, something straight out of the early days of the Internet. https://preview-radar.weather.gov/ It is almost downright embarrassing. Wow is this the best we can offer in 2020? ouch! Check out the precip moving over time, wow is that herky jerky or what? It is also incredibly COARSE, kind of like what we had in the mid/late 1990s. NWS - is this the best you can do? We are being presented with much LESS colors for radar too, we will need to learn to interpret weather with a lot less useful information. It's actually pretty embarrassing. Its a DOWNGRADE, a major one. I might have to find a new hobby, like fishing or something lol
  21. OK today is a little better down here. Good southerly winds, dewpoints up in the upper 40s instead of the frigid low 30s for a change. Wow, this place is changing markedly. It takes us 2 weeks to warm up! Thats more like Washington DC then south central Texas lmao.
  22. It has been averaging in the 30s and 40s for lows the past 2 weeks here in central Texas. I think this bodes well for the Mid Atlantic. You guys should average 20 degrees below normal for nighttime lows, like we have been. For us, these are super freezing cold temps at night, akin to Dale City getting 13 degree lows every night this time of year. I want you guys to be ice age cold, but not us. We depend on a long growing season down here. I hope that this is only a blip for us. If it turns out to be a long term trend, this winter down in the Deep South could be Deep Trouble. We are not insulated for that kind of weather. I have livestock too, and they are definitely not used to super cold weather. My life down here is slightly different to how I once lived in Dale City, lol, and I am enjoying it. Should have done it 40 years ago! Last night, we hit 38 AGAIN! You'd never imagine our normal low is 56. We just dont get return warm humid air from the GoMex any more. Some fool built an 8 mile high wall all along the Gulf of Mexico and we cant warm up any more.
