  1. CIG categories will also be helpful in differentiating QLCS spinups from tornado producing supercell threats. I believe this will also be helpful for tornado threats associated with tropical systems.
  2. I feel that the CIG categories could be confusing to the general public but I also feel the old lower probabilities weren’t too helpful to the general public either. Especially before enhanced/marginal were introduced. I do think the higher probabilities gets the word out better for borderline severe/sub severe squall lines and line segments that produce widespread winds.
  3. Agree with this premise. Do not think we would be seeing 60% wind probabilities with the old methodology.
  4. I did see this today. I even mentioned to myself that it was one of the cleanest contrast differences I’ve seen.
  5. Woke up to a little over 3.5” just South of Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Assuming probably close to 4” when accounting for compaction.
  6. Last observation of the night for me. A hair less than 3” just south of Blue Mountain Ski resort. Noticeable uptick in intensity the past 5-10 minutes. Would assume 0.5”+ rates currently.
  7. 0z HRRR hot off the presses. Model Ratio No longer brings the coastal banding into western Lehigh Valley. Crazy to see 2ft still showing up in Jersey in addition to what’s already fallen.
  8. Live within a mile of Blue Mountain Ski Resort on the southern side of the mountain.
  9. Wow I might be getting lucky here then. Been moderate snow since about 4:30 here. Just measured 2” on the cars here.
  10. Hard to tell if this is a true cutoff or just distance from radar. Kind of a dead spot radar wise.
  11. Pleasantly surprised to be seeing some of those heavier returns trying to reach into the Lehigh Valley. Hoping they don’t come up just short. Thinking maybe 1.5” here just south of Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Roads are covered. 29.5 degrees.
  12. Yeah I thought the same there. 12km same story but even worse. Comparing to previous run for that hour is just funny.
  13. HRRR and RAP are actually quite impressive QPF wise for PHI. 2” and 1.7” respectively with some to come on RAP yet.
  14. 34.2 degrees just south of Blue Mountain Ski resort. Moderate snow, not sticking to any surfaces yet. Intensity and flake size picked up quite a bit in the last 10-15 minutes.
