One thing that’s really cool with the AguaceroWx app is it allows you to customize a Skew T. So when it generates a Skew T, you can actually change the temperature, DP, wind, shear, etc…. To see how that changes the parameters. For example if the SBCAPE is 1500 joules at 70 degrees, you can change the temperature to 75 degrees to see how that changes the CAPE. Pretty cool. .

Agree… I’m thinking Wednesday east of the Mississippi River will be our best chance looking ahead but it doesn’t look great as of now. .

I’m not sure severe (legit severe) is gonna make it east of Little Rock with the troughs getting kicked out. It’s crazy to think we are working with 80 degree temps and a large open warm sector during the first of March but our but our trough is headed towards Toronto. .

Week 2 has been growing NE over the last several days. .

I think it’s possible that March might be the best month this year…. Maybe towards the end of May into June for your traditional areas. Nina to neutral is gonna choke the troughs off. But obviously severe doesn’t need the perfect pattern, just the perfect day. .

Looks like severe is about to get cranked up in a week or so .

What’s crazy is they had a bomb threat at HMS yesterday around noon. Apparently a student told a teacher that another female student had a gun and bomb in her backpack. Obviously, they didn’t find anything. .

Your elevation is just a little short of 2000 correct? I was having a conversation with some of the guys on Mike Witchers private weatherboard and I was telling them about your location and how much better you do than 90% of East Tennessee outside the mountains. We have several people on Mike’s board who are close to the Tn boarder, east of 75 to Bristol in areas that you don’t hear about very often just because they’re so rural. That area close to the Tennessee State line east of 75 is in a completely different climate than the majority of East Tennessee outside the mountains. They send in a lot of pictures from their communities when it snows and when Knoxville gets flurries, it’s just about guaranteed those areas that I was talking about are going to get an inch or so. This one guy lives in Church Hill area and I’m not sure they have had school up there one full week since it got cold in January. .

I might be wrong, but I believe our biggest snow ever in the Knoxville area was in November, however, just about all of our biggest snowstorms have been in March. That makes sense though considering that’s about the best moisture return month you’re going to get before it gets too warm. .

March 2025 would like a word with them .
