  1. GFS NW trend the last several runs… .
  2. So it’s moving towards 10 o’clock and we are stuck at 24° with a decent cloud deck that has moved in. WAA can overcome a solid cloud deck, but it’s gonna have to be a decently strong WAA. .
  3. Did you all see the wreck in Cookeville yesterday on I 40? They had a very heavy squall move through that initially melted, and then froze back causing terrible situation. .
  4. One of the analogues that I continued to see back in late summer to early fall for this winter was 2013-14. (I think) lol .
  5. I was thinking 2015 also but I’m terrible with dates .
  6. I can’t remember what year, less than 10 years ago, but on the NW side of a line from Morristown to London got hammered from a event that was forecasted to be snow, rain, snow but CAD kept everything snow NW of that line. I ended up with 9” and the temps never got above 28°. At the same time, Sevierville was all rain in the mid 40’s. Edit this to change NE to NW of the line. .
  7. Unless the winds are out of the SE, those temps don’t make sense to me. .
  8. https://x.com/brady_wx/status/2011850116487893414?s=46&t=LVg8BRWCh1zZb6F_t95EVg .
  9. I’m not familiar with these two mods but…. .
  10. Mods sometimes have trouble with under doing the precipitation shield on the NW side. Not saying we are still in the game but I’m struggling to find some outs. .
  11. With the temp issues in ETn but not so much in west or east of here, makes me think the mods are about to sniff out a handoff or energy transfer. Seems like when we get odd looking thermals up the valley, it’s a precursor to a low popping off the coast of SC. .
  12. There’s a low pressure over the Great Lakes that suppressing our moisture. These seem to be there every time we get in a ok pattern .
  13. Other than mountain NW flow, I don’t believe anyone east of Asheville has seen a decent snow in five or six years .
  14. At least we know there’s likely going to be a storm south and or east of us. That’s about all you can ask for in the middle of January and whatever happens, happens. .
  15. We need another big jog to the west because sometimes these systems will calibrate their self back east in the 11th hour .
  16. It seems like every year now right around MLK day we are dealing with snow .
  17. It did…. Except when you don’t want it to. .
  18. HRRR is at its max range but it definitely threw a bone to everyone east of 75. .
