  1. Was reading our last soil report from 2016 and our pH of soil is 5.7, which is slightly low. It's recommended to apply 30lbs lime per 1000sqrt. But, the real problem is low organic matter. From the report: "Your soil pH is only slightly low. The real problem is very low organic mater content, which greatly limits nutrient and water holding capacity. This is a common problem with purchased soil – perhaps also with the new soil you are bringing in. Almost any sandy soil needs some organic matter mixed in before seeding. Tilling in 1 – 2 inches compost and/or peat moss are common materials to use, either in your existing soil or soil brought in." Sounds like a huge project to till-in a bunch of compost or peat moss. I was going to buy a bunch of lime but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
  2. Alex, nice place man. When's the party?
  3. Lol, was just gonna post about the clouds. In Naples out on boat. A bit chilly with partial breaks. Making the best of it. Dinner then 2 hr songo queen classic rock boat cruise
  4. Topsoil seems decent. Maybe 3-4". I checked for grubs and see none. It's just odd. Other houses around here on the hills have decent green lawn and theirs are exposed as much as ours. Maybe all the granite underneath has some effect, IDK. It's just ridiculous and an eye sore
  5. Lawn looks terrible. Matted in places. Recent rain seems to be helping a little, but otherwise just garbage. I cut the "lawn" today. More like cutting a field.
  6. 1.34". Didn't think we'd add up since we only had 0.4" at 9pm
  7. I'm gonna check for grubs again, as I have those exact random dead patches. Last year when I checked, I didn't see any. I always blame it on the high heat and SW exposure, but there can good smaller sections of grass right up against the crummy ones, so maybe the grubs are there.
  8. Are we getting dumped on tonight or not? I saw 1-2" possibly, but I won't hold my breath
  9. We just bought a new outdoor antennae and believe it or not , I can pull in a couple Boston channels, one being whdh. TV fool says tower is 125mi away. Antenna is non amplified and rated for 70 mi. Being up on a hill helps but I'm surprised we can pull that station
  10. I'll take my 0.3" frcst and move on. Meanwhile, maybe 1.5"+ for eastern zones
  11. 2004 for me. time definitely went by
  12. Big difference. My comment had nothing to do (dew) with frcsting and who's right or wrong. When people root for rn in winter, I (and others) that like to play outside (ski, snowmobile, etc) as well as the industries and businesses that benefit from such appreciate the snowy/cold winters. You may have some support here during the summer for HHH, but you're in the minority if all you want is brown and warmth during the winter.
  13. I hope we don't have to listen to you wish for rains to the canadian border all winter. Might have to use the mute option
  14. No. Just bobbing and weaving around town
