  1. Wow it’s been that long. I remember that event. My wife and I walked around the neighborhood looking at decorations. We can only hope..
  2. That is one cold op run. Repeated cold on top of cold and then cold.
  3. Not often you see 528dm south of the FL line. Late run GFS is quite nippy in the East. It will feel like straight winter in the not so distant future. Yeehaw
  4. Be nice to get a simple little overrunning event...couple inches..end of story....these deep plunging lows are like connecting your bat with a fast ball..great when it happens but happens rarely.
  5. Has to be closer to a record high today
  6. Close misses to south is just fine! That’s quite a look. Thanks for posting sir.
  7. That made me sad. But no way ...not this year. No partly sunny high 56 winds west 5mph Xmas.
  8. I think the clouds are keeping it from hitting 80. It’s ok. Normally I’d be upset but I can wait for what comes next.
  9. We were waiting for you out of respect. It’s more believable when you say it. I’m enthused.
  10. Looking at the 850/2m temp anomaly at 384 on 18z GEFS looks like we need more help. It’s still mostly above normal just not way above normal. Just looking at it for trends there is hardly any really cold air in Canada to deliver even with a better h5 look. Maybe it will evolve over time.
  11. It seems that should be the holy grail of epic patterns. Screensaver pattern.
  12. I like LWX choice of words in the AFD...wintry precip chances non-zero...so you are saying there’s a chance
  13. maybe first flakes? that would be a huge win for my crap location. RA/SN mix even
  14. I wish I was smart enough to understand what that video HM posted is really showing. Evolving NA block?
  15. The Vienna sausages in BBQ sauce are really next level good. Add a little spray cheese if you need to class it up a bit.
  16. yes quite odd to see 522dm to the SW of our region and 552dm in upstate NY. I suppose blocks can do crazy things...so can op runs post 200hr
  17. if I am not hallucinating h5 looks quite nice up in the important regions this go around at least on the op in the post 200hr range
  18. I'm with you. Flurries, RN/SN mix, IP all at 3am... sign me up.
  19. h5 looks decent on the GEFS. But 850/2m temps are solidly average. Its a start at least.
  20. That may be the only kind of pattern where the closed low really generates its own cold air. It’s the baked Alaska pattern. We are the ice cream.
  21. Good point. I’m not sure how the op GFS or any model does with closed lows. Both the GFS and Euro had a closed low for the longest time for T-day in many locations in the east...until it didn’t just about 4 days ago. At least we are tracking something.
