September vibes - Last 90s for some, 1st frost for others

It feels better today than it has the past many days. So glad we're finally seeing a bit of a cooldown. -

I'm looking into the Kanc Highway area, yeah. I'd love to go to Vermont, too! But the trip is several hours away and money is tight, so I can only see going up and seeing NH one day, staying one night and going one way or the other to see Maine or Vermont. Vermont is certainly high on my list to see, but Maine is a place I've wanted to see (and live in lol) since I was a teen, so I have to pick Maine first. -

Patches of yellow appearing down here in CT. Nothing impressive yet. NH members please keep us updated, I want to travel up to NH during or at least near peak! I never know when that'll be because every website I appear is all over the place on when that'll be. I'm assuming first week of October is good? I want to time this good because we might stay a night in NH, since it's a several hour drive up there to begin with, and then the next day maybe visit Maine as well. -

I don't see any day much if at all cooler than this in any forecast in my location, so yes it looks like it's going to last. Enjoy your "torch". As for me, I'm waiting for a cooldown. -

Ran into a large branch on the road today after the storm line went by. I didn't think that the storms had the kind of wind or anything that would cause that? That makes no sense to me. A very weak tree, I guess. -

What, you mean to tell me it hasn't already been fall for the majority of August? So many days in the 70s and some in the 60s. I'm loving it. I'm going to hate Summer so much less up here. -
Was up just north of Hartford most of the day. It was pretty nasty. Maybe not blazing hot, but ugh. Oh well, looks like that might be it for upper 80s and 90s for the season. Hopefully.

This sucks. I've never been an outdoor person, but I was kinda becoming more of an outdoor person after moving up here this summer. I've been enjoying the beaches. To think that late last week I was very close to going up to near Plymouth, but chose a beach in Rhode Island instead. I'm vulnerable (yay for arthritis at a young age) so I have to be extremely careful with things like this. I haven't seen many mosquitoes since coming up here and don't think I've been bitten by one, but this is very scary. I want to keep on enjoying beaches in the future.

What little tolerance for heat I have been able to build up this summer seems to already be gone. I walk outside in this sunny weather in the 80s and hate it. It would help if there was wind at least, it's just so darn stale out there.
-
I noticed some trees (don't know what type) getting some leaves turning yellow, but I'm new up here so I don't know if they're actually changing or just distressed for some reason. It seems very early for it to happen in August, even in CT and even given some of the cooler days. It's not like it's been chilly or anything, just cool.
-
Low 70s here today, partly cloudy and still breezy. Still feels remarkably nice for this time of the year, but the last couple of days in the 60s has got me yearning for that crisp cool autumn air in the 50s. It makes me so happy. I'm so ready.
-
It was in the mid 50s when I went to bed and I imagine it went down to 50 but I don't know as I slept in too late. lol I got to sleep under all of my covers, including my comforter! Truly amazing that can happen in summer up here. I love it!

Another gorgeous cool, gusty and cloudy autumn day... in August. God, New England is awesome.
-
Blasphemy! Cloudy, misty days in the 40s and low 50s only!
-
I just cannot believe how often it is cool in the summer up here. Truly incredible. Went for a walk this evening before the sun completely set and it was already down in the 60s! Rain today happened but wasn't much of anything. Saturday I went to Hammonasset and was pleased that the waves were a little more decent than normal. I even found a Whelk seashell (dirty, but not broken!). I was amazed!

I thought people would be more sensible about what is chilly when I moved up here, but I've been proven wrong. People here talk like 60s are chilly, just like people in the South. (I understand that highs in the 60s in August are very bizarrely cool, but to say that they're chilly? What is this, Florida?)

A lot less nice than yesterday, but it's still better than sunny. It's been windy, with occasional bouts of light rain. Was glad to see no Tornado Watch for Middlesex county, hope it stays that way.
-
Another gorgeous overcast, breezy day in the 60s. This is surreal to me.
-
60 degrees with light rain and a breeze. In August! Is this heaven? I can't believe this. This weather is too good to be real!
-
Feeling really nice here in the aftermath of the storm. =) Too bad tomorrow looks hotttt.
-
It's downright nasty outside today. A day worthy of the title of "Ughust" for sure.

We'll see about that. lol You have to realize that the winters where I came from had become so pathetic that it was effecting my mental health. I had to move somewhere that has four seasons. My mental health was suffering too much. So, if winter here is too much for me, that's a better problem to have. I'll look forward to Spring for the first time in my life. Yup, lousy Oklahoma.

August - the month where when I am officially done with summer and can only think of autumn. Having moved up here to NE, it is interesting though because many of the summer days have actually been pleasant, not anything like the constant suffocating heat I'm used to. Looking forward to my first New England autumn and winter!

Anywhere else I have posted, I have always been like the most cynical poster ever in weather topics. You all have me beat with your hands tied behind your backs. Jesus Christ.

Pleasant day! Light to moderate rain to noon or thereabouts and since then it was been in the upper 60s and lower 70s with overcast skies.
