Down in CT we didn't get the nice, cool morning in the 50s that you all did up there.

Went down to the beach today (Hammonasset) and it was actually quite pleasant, especially when the sun went beyond the clouds. I was also on the coast yesterday, and yesterday was muggy and yucky in comparison. The breeze at the beach today was nice!

I hate this weather. Reminds me of the South. We don't even have the cool mornings anymore, it's already hot and muggy when you wake up (although let me tell you it's still better than 90s+ at night, which sometimes happens where I came from). And more severe storms??? UGH. Ready for fall and nice weather!

It's farrr too early to project anything, but gosh I hope that New England (very much including where I am in CT!) get an actual winter. Coming up from the south, it would be my first actual winter in forever and it's very important to me! Hit me with your hardest, NE. Make me regret ever wishing for this. lol. My mental health is so tied to having actual four seasons, which is one reason I left the south because winters down there are so pathetic and were just getting more and more pathetic. I want a winter that actually makes me appreciate Spring for the first time in decades. I need it.

Soaked here in central Connecticut. Supposed to clear up soon, though. And then it's back to 90 degrees weather for several days.

Thank you! I was discharged today. Walking outside it was very unpleasant, even though I'm happy to see outside of the inside of a hospital for the first time in several days. This is the kind of summer weather I'm used to, the kind of weather that makes me wish I could hibernate. lol

Nah, I mean I am a bit of a recluse in general, but this is because I've been in the hospital...

Actually, my favorite type of weather is in the 40s and 50s with overcast skies and mist/drizzle. I know I'm an oddball, but that is delightful weather for me. It couldn't get any better. So you're telling me that's how Spring is around here? Now, that's paradise. I hope autumn is similar. There's one reason I moved out of Oklahoma. Note that in the post you quoted, I said "I can't complain too much about that", that should be read more literally than one might normally. I'd rather it be much cooler, but I acknowledge that it's summer and summer is awful, thus 79 degrees is relatively not horrible. Although I still don't like it, TBH. Admittedly, the little bit of heat acclimation I go through in Summer makes it better than it would be in March or something. (my heat acclimation is a joke, though. Like seriously, I only acclimate to the 70s and lower 80s at best, and not with any sunshine. No sunshine at all. I hate sun.) Oklahoma's "Spring" can go shove it. 80 degrees in March is god awful. That is misery to me. Nothing makes me more grouchy than hot weather in Winter or early Spring/late Autumn. The whole atmosphere changes from happiness to misery. I don't know how to describe it. But it's a reason I moved away from Oklahoma. The seasons down there are messed up, disorderly. It's hot so long in the year, and even gets far too warm in the middle of winter. I couldn't take it anymore.

Yeah, I'm kinda noticing that. I'm afraid I will definitely be caught up in the hype in the winter, as I love winter storms and always am watching every detail, every forecast. My obsession with winter storms is probably why my parents thought I was going to grow up to be a meteorologist. Perhaps. Initially I wanted to move to MA over CT, and climate-wise wanted more VT/NH/ME (but wanted to live close to civilization, too and those states are pretty rural. I'm a suburb girl, definitely not one for the country.). But CT was a compromise with my parents who like the weather warmer. I wanted them to move up here to New England, too, so that's how I ended up CT as opposed to MA or further north. Well, I'm still new here. I have to learn things by observing myself, I suppose. But the trees being weak is certainly of concern. It's always been trees that have caused damage for my home/property as I posted last time. So if a 40 MPH windstorm knocks a large branch on my car, it's all the same in the end. D: Yikes. Will take trees into account when finding a permanent home. No shtick here, just me posting my honest thoughts. I had to leave OK and choose a new state by other rubrics as well, but a large reason I particularly chose the New England region is climate. So it's something I'm going to talk about. It's very important to me. I don't know what it is, but a fair portion of my mental health is related to climate and seasons.

I'm like right in between two different Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. Lol. Hope it stays that way and stays away from me!

Well, I already laughed at the horror and fear of my neighbors as pea sized hail fell. lol

I assume this is some kinda inside joke question based off of how off-topic this is and how I've seen it mentioned elsewhere. But... I can only be truthful - I don't drink alcohol. Not at all. I tried it when I turned 21 and I quickly decided it wasn't a taste worth acquiring. A tornado is a tornado. They are all dangerous, and potentially costly. We had what was potentially nothing more than a spin-up at my house in the summer of 2016. It knocked a tree over on our car. Last summer we had what I think was called a "derecho" which isn't a tornado, obviously, but was equivalent in damage to a small tornado in a wide area across Tulsa county. It knocked a huge branch on my roof. At first it didn't look like a lot of damage, but it hit a vent over my bathroom and somehow damaged it so badly that we had to pay for a costly repair which included tearing into the wall in my bathroom. D: That stupid storm delayed my move, which was initially supposed to happen last fall or early winter. Otherwise, I know that bad tornadoes the likes of Oklahoma's bad ones can happen in New England. They may historically be rare, but look at the Springfield, MA tornado that happened just 13 years ago. Any storm, any tornado could potentially evolve into that. The climate is very bizarre as of late with climate change. I see longtime Connecticut residents complaining about how weak and mild the winters have been as of late. It reminds me of how I felt back in Oklahoma. The changes there happened pretty quickly. One summer I saw a high of 70F in December and was like "WHAT?!!!!" and less than 10 years later, 70F days were happening like every other week in winter. A 70F day in the winter is now standard Oklahoma winter weather. (which I hated so much. I need winter to be winter.) The weather is crazy. We never know what's going to happen. I take every threat seriously, just like I did back in OK. Also, I may have to correct myself: Were there three reported tornadoes? I was thinking of one near Dublin,NH and then the tornado that started in RI and went up to MA several nights ago. However, I was forgetting the spin-up that happened in Harwinton, CT that happened not long after I got up here. So... THREE? in just TWO WEEKS after moving here? You all can't comfort me much after that, sorry.

You tell me that, but I've only lived here for two weeks and there have already been two reported tornadoes in the region.

Hoping the stormy pattern calms down. I'm loving this cooler weather. It feels like FALL outside this morning with overcast skies and temps in the 60s and I LOVE IT, it makes me happy! But as I always said back in Oklahoma: If getting and staying hot stops the severe storms from forming, then I'd rather it just get and stay hot.

Shockingly pleasant weather again. Can't believe how it feels and it's almost July. I love living in New England!

Dang it, these storms are relentless and keep on coming in waves! Back in OK, typically you have one line and then you're clear. I hope this storm weakens.

Danbury cell has certainly taken an eastward turn (from what I can make out, anyway). Please don't let it become severe or tornadic!

My number one concern coming up here was actually flooding. I would certainly take a hurricane seriously if it was coming up this way. Thankfully those seem pretty rare. Anyway, looks like there are no active Tornado Warnings right now, that's good news! (hopefully that didn't change by the time I posted this) I'm watching that cell West/SW of Danbury, hoping that it doesn't explode and turn more eastward, because then I might be in the track of it. D:

I hope you're right, but seeing a Tornado Warning one week after I got up here and then seeing another Tornado Warning in the state the next day is making me worried for sure. I feel cursed.

Tornado Watch just extended into some portions of Northern Connecticut and Rhode Island? Still not me, but far too close for comfort!
