  1. WUnderground was showing like five inches yesterday. Now not even half an inch. What a bummer. Reminds me of living in the south. Had promising storms vanish the day of the storm.
  2. Wonder what this could have been if it had stayed snow. When I took my dog out around 9 pm it was nice fluffy snow on the ground, but now it's a crunchy mess. My apartment's parking lot is just solid ice. Ugh.
  3. I looked outside and thought "no way was this a 6 inch storm". I measured about 4 inches. Guess I must have cursed myself yesterday when I said "Will tonight's storm even produce more than 4 inches? Crossing my fingers.".
  4. It's been snowing for at least half an hour here. It's picked up quite a bit!
  5. If only we could see this again. It was just a few months before I moved up here... I just want to see a double digit snowstorm. Coming up from the south, I haven't seen one since early 2011. My luck that one would happen right before I moved up here, even during a winter that everyone up here considered to have no snow. Will tonight's storm even produce more than 4 inches? Crossing my fingers.
  6. Nope, don't like that. But I'm wondering why the NWS has not issued a warning for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties but did for the other CT counties. Although it must be unrelated to this since eastern MA also isn't warned last I checked.
  7. 1.5 inches here in Bristol. Was hoping the projection more of 3 inches was going to turn out true. Oh well. Hopefully Saturday night delivers!
  8. Snow started in what must have been the last thirty to forty minutes. It's already sticking some!
  9. I don't think it snowed here at all last night. I know it wasn't going to be much but that's lame. It also got above freezing rapidly after the sun came up and now it's 43 degrees.
  10. Got maybe 4 inches. "Meh" for my first "Winter Storm Warning" storm in CT, but it is thicker than most of the stuff I've seen here so far and is quite pretty!
  11. My family in southern Tulsa county, OK reported 7 inches. More than I've yet to see in Connecticut this season. Congrats, you all. I know these storms are rare in the region. I know because I lived there not too long ago and it was depressing.
  12. My former home state and region getting more snow than me in New England just ain't right. Enjoy, you all.
  13. So... this is definitely a bust, right? I'm not seeing any accumulations in the forecast at all. We got more snow the other day (one inch or so. It's all blown away by now). Lame. Reminds me of how it was back where I formerly lived. All of the storms go either North or South. Literally... You can see that back in OK just over the past two storms. One storm went just above NE OK, this one's going just below NE OK. It's depressing. It's one thing for that to happen with a couple of storms, it's another thing for it to be a trend over years and years which it has been down there, and apparently the trend here hasn't been great either.
  14. Seeing some light snow in western CT. A pleasant surprise.
  15. WUnderground suddenly showing inches of snow on the 11th. I'm not getting too excited. That's six days out. I know how this works.
  16. Saw a headline about DC getting a 'snowstorm'. Meanwhile, haven't seen any snow I could call a "storm" in CT yet, and no snow at all in the forecast. Technically December was snowy, but each event was minor.
  17. Overall I enjoyed this December. The weather was seasonably chilly and there was snow on the ground on Christmas and other parts of the month. The snow totals were small, but I can't complain much. If the weather were like today all month I would have been feeling crappy though because today legitimately feels like winter where I came from. Thankfully, that's not the case. The seasonably chilly weather will return soon!
  18. Snow happened before I woke up, I don't know exactly how much fell, I just know that it filled in the patches that had melted. Above freezing temps caused some melting again but looks like we should be at the 1 inch threshold for a white Christmas tomorrow morning. My first Christmas in CT/the Northeast and the first white Christmas I've seen since 2009.
  19. Yes, but with the upcoming few days I expect melting. Even though it's well below freezing, the sun does a lot of damage.
  20. So it looks like CT is going to miss out on this. For shame. Haven't had a White Christmas since 2009 where I came from. Oh well, a White Christmas is a silly notion to hope for, though isn't it? We have a White Winter Solstice here and that's good.
  21. On the western end of the heavier band right now. I'll take it!
  22. No ruler here. but I estimate around 4 inches here north of Waterbury (into Litchfield county) but I could be wrong. When I woke up I saw on social media a link to NWS reports and Bristol got 6.5 inches. I wonder if that's true! That certainly wasn't projected anywhere in Hartford county.
  23. I say central even though I'm more western right now. I'm north of Waterbury.
  24. Snow started here about 30 minutes ago. Went from flurries to moderate snow pretty rapidly. It started sticking even on the pavement pretty quickly.
