At least on the snowbelt the towns are prepared. In Central MD, not so much.

18z GFS is even more insane than 12z. Obviously that'll never happen but it's fun to watch. Then again those kind of totals are far into the danger zone for many people. My biggest storm as an adult was in MD in 2010. We had two 20"+ storms within a week. It was nuts. The roof was creaking and I ran out of places to put the shoveled snow. It took a week to even get the neighborhood plowed so neighbors dug a path out to the main road.

GFS has been oddly consistent with this storm. It's had it for at least the last 12 runs

GFS has consistently a real nice snow storm for the Palmer Divide SE of Denver for the last several days for Friday/Saturday.

It was all snow, just tough to overcome marginal temps for significant accumulation

Would have been my best storm of the winter with colder temps.

The gradient for this storm was intense. I got 3.5" and 8 miles west of me got 7, and 8 miles west of that got over a foot.

Looks likesome folks did really well with this, but for me yet another bust. About 3" of the 4-8" forecast

Should top out near 4" with this system, first overperformer of the year for me. And the 2nd largest snow fall of the season, ouch

GFS largely lost the storm for mid-week next week.

-9 here in NE Colorado. Got to -11 last night with similar or colder tonight. The coldest reading I ever got when I lived in MD was 1 degree.

Another major bust on the snow forecast for my area. It'd been the theme of the winter. 3-5" forecast, just over an inch or so actually fell.

Palmer Divide did well, though the best of it was a few miles south of me. I ended up with just under 2". Some spots south got 4"

GFS has lost the storm again over its last few runs for the Colorado eastern plains

GFS shows absolutely zero snow for eastern Colorado through the end of its 18z run. Ouch.

Last winter, my first in Colorado, I had used my snowblower like 6-7 times by mid-January This year so far: once.

And the Front Range gets screwed again. Screw you La Nina!
