I didn't see any color change up there quite yet. At the lower elevations it was in the mid 80s while we were there. Up above 4k feet there are different type of trees. Usually they start to change in beginning part of September up there and max out last week of Sep/first week of October depending on the year.

That thing looked like a Cat 2 hurricane with consistent neverending high end gusts. I also didn't think that was possible in a severe weather event. Usually they are extremely brief.

I just saw that. How do you determine 33% capacity? And no one is wearing a mask their entire workout, just ain't happening. When they come in and when they leave, but during workout I'd say 50-75% of people won't wear a mask.

Definitely the most intense one I've seen on camera. 14 min mark is just unreal.

Just got back from the Dacks. Hit up 5 more high peaks with some friends. On Thursday we started hiking around 2:30 am to make it up to Algonquin for a sunrise hike. Absolutely the most incredible sunrise I've ever seen. Perfect conditions up there. In the upper 40s, no wind.

Two really nice shorter hikes that are not high peaks are Mt Jo and Ampersand. Would definitely recommend those 2 for a nice hike and view. October would be perfect as the colors should be in full bloom.

89'd yesterday. We are up to like 10 89s on the year I believe. +2.7 for the month. I'll be heading up to the Adirondacks again this week. Doing a sunrise hike on Thursday, really excited as it's supposed to be beautiful. Lows look to be in the 50s in town and upper 30s/low 40s on the peaks. We're doing Algonquin, Iroqouis, Wright, Giant, and rocky ridge this week. @Luke_Mages How was your gray and skylight hike?

I wanted to see if it was just me in how warm its been the last few years. I went through the monthly reporting data back to Aug of 2015 and we have had 40 months above normal with the majority of months well above normal (+3-+8 range) December 2015 featured a +12 departure...INSANE Since Aug of 2015 there have been 20 months with below normal temperatures. Those below normal temp months departures are very small compared to the warmer then average months. So on average right now for every month of below normal temps we get 2 with above. Global warming is real and its effects are evident in Upstate New York and increasing rapidly. They're calling for a warmer fall and potentially warm winter as well. This is the new norm.

This is Hawkeye in Cedar Rapids. It’s a damn war zone here. I lost my tree, fence, and garden. Trees are trashed everywhere. My neighbor’s 60 ft maple was sheared right off halfway up. We got 50 mph sustained, with gusts to 100, for 30+ minutes. It was unreal.

Gusts reported over 100 MPH in the midwest. One of the best derechos in awhile.

Good luck man. The real estate market is insanity right now. I bought my house last year in January for 160k. Just got it appraised and it's worth 190k. 30k in 1 year. Houses are going 10-50k above asking right now depending on price range. Some of my clients have said open houses have 20-30 bids each. Buffalo is still exploding in value. People realize how great of a place it is to live finally. I love this city. I've traveled all over the world and still find this place amazing.

Indoor dining has been open here for 2 months. I just ate at a bar 2 days ago, was pretty normal. Gyms, movie theaters, sporting events, concerts remain closed. Makes no sense, open up everything.

The antibody testing is even worse. Has like a 30% success rate. Matthew Stafford also had a false positive covid test. I spoke with a client of mine who works at department of health in erie county and shes seen several as well.

I agree with this, but in this instance I just don't see how tens of thousands of scientists would jeopardize their morale and licenses for the sake of pleasing political agendas after devoting their entire life for the betterment of our country.

The drivers of that looks to be the consistent warm pool of water south of Alaska and west of Seattle.

I'd rather be in a warm pattern now then in winter.

This country has a real problem with being anti science. My entire Facebook is flooded with conspiracy theories about the coronavirus and anti vaccine. They think everything is corrupt. While many things are, I just don't see how scientists and those in the medical world that go to school for 10-15 years to help people would be involved in a giant ponzi scheme to deceive the country.

Looks like this winter will feature a weak La Nina. This usually features snowy Decembers. Besides 2013-2015 winters, 2000-01 might have been my favorite winter 2017-18, 2016-17, 2008-09, 2000-01, 1995-96 ,1983-84, 1971-72
