  1. Cuomo just launched a new covid traveling requirement. Syracuse, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo today eliminated the ever-growing quarantine travel list with a new testing requirement for those entering New York from other states. Instead, all people entering New York will have to bring proof of a negative coronavirus test, Cuomo said. That test must be within three days of coming into the state. The traveler must then quarantine for three days. On the fourth day, the traveler must get another test. Once that second test comes back negative, the person is no longer quarantined, he said. If traveler doesn’t get tested, then he or she must quarantine 14 days after arriving in New York -- no matter where they come from, Cuomo said. People who leave the state for just 24 hours will follow a different requirement, Cuomo said. For those shorter trips, the person must get a negative test within four days after returning to New York, he said. https://www.syracuse.com/coronavirus/2020/10/cuomo-replaces-quarantine-travel-list-with-new-testing-rules-for-travelers-entering-ny.html?utm_campaign=syracusedotcom_sf&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR0PITterJcGVoHt12ZPqtLRH7JyWJgjKlF5Rd6BGNP-v3x0OuNpApBC_c8
  2. The GFS merges the hurricane with the low pressure system.
  3. Medical professionals were caught off guard and did not know what they were dealing with initially with covid. It took some time to come up with proper treatment plans. People were being put on ventilators almost right away at the start of this pandemic which led to the high mortality rate initially. That rate has since been declining. Now we have theuropetics that work quite well against it. Look at Trump for instance, 3 days and almost back to full health. Regeneron and Remdesevir are able to take a big hit in the symptoms of patients and hospital stays.
  4. That's insane. If someone did that to my dog I would be doing much more then installing cams. My dog is my life lol.
  5. I've been trying to find a product that doesn't involve a monthly/yearly subscription but it seems they all do? Blink, Ring, Nest, etc..
  6. GFS going to mess with us all long range again this year? The hurricane that ends up going over Florida is really close to a superstorm merger near us. If those 2 combine it would be something else, all about timing.
  7. Yeah took me 10 minutes to get the frost off my car before work. middle/end of month looks interesting.
  8. I think we see a dramatic rise in cases for several months but deaths won't likely keep up with the trends of previous months due to better treatment. Vaccines likely start early next year. Going to be a rough couple months though.
  9. I got my snow fix in Oregon and Washington, going to pass on chasing this one. Waiting for first real LES event. A sunset picture at my hood. Idk if it was smoke or something but unreal colors.
  10. It looks pretty warm for at least 10-14 days after this brief cool down. Hopefully we get a pattern change for late November. If anything lakes will be way above normal. Looks like record breaking heat.
  11. It snowed in Mid May and Oct 30th, pretty short season without snow, only 4 months.
  12. Really like the look for those south of tug and north of Syracuse for next event. Has it all. 3-6"
  13. Kind of exciting to have a bunch of new posters in different parts of the state this year. Good luck eastern NY guys.
  14. Everyone was wearing a mask in line but no one was 6 feet apart. This article explains how wearing a mask inside does limit spread, but it will still infect at least a few in an environment of long term close contact inside. https://english.elpais.com/society/2020-10-28/a-room-a-bar-and-a-class-how-the-coronavirus-is-spread-through-the-air.html
  15. The large gatherings are already taking place. The polling place I went to at Town Hall had hundreds of people in line through small corridors all tightly packed together. Far more people are congregated together in voting right now then will be at thanksgiving. Everyone in line was talking about how many Covid violations are being made the entire 30 minute wait to vote.
  16. My good friends best friend committed suicide 3 days ago. 3 kids and a wife, no warning signs. This pandemic is definitely affecting people.
  17. Yes. Just never washes his hands, like ever...He's a slob. Also a plumber.
  18. He said the main therapeutic they are using is Remdesevir. It lowers the number of days in the hospital by approximately 50%.
  19. It's been raining down here ever since I got back, just miserable weather.
  20. My friend in California works on covid floor stated that it is only being used in Beverly Hills west hollywood hospital, but if you're wealthy enough you can probably get your hands on it. Their hospital is too poor for it. But looks like its only available in a hospital setting at this moment.
  21. My dad is the most unhygienic person on the planet and I've never seen him sick.
  22. Treatment at the beginning of the pandemic was terrible, deaths are declining while cases increase. The virus is not nearly as deadly as once thought. Regeneron helps reduce viral load in patients. https://www.biospace.com/article/covid-19-by-the-numbers-mortality-rates-in-u-s-decrease-despite-uptick-in-cases/ https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/regeneron-says-its-covid-19-antibody-treatment-cut-medical-visits-n1245197 The most recent data (from the week ending October 10) showed excess deaths only 0 and 2.9 percent higher than historic data. A look at the data shows that excess deaths peaked the week ending April 11, with 35.6% to 40.6% more deaths than usual, then began a downward trajectory through June 20, when the incidence of COVID-19 rose in Sunbelt states after declining in the North and Northeast.
