  1. Yeah the central and southern states are all well above average. Everyone else that gets a real winter is below besides the west coast. Mt Rainer averages 650-700" a year so I think they are below normal as well. Check this out from last year over there. This is where @TugHillMatt needs to move. https://weather.com/news/news/2020-01-14-snow-depth-increases-nearly-100-inches-january-mount-rainier#:~:text=You can see how the, feet) of snow per season.
  2. The vaccines provide protection against the variants to a degree and decrease hospitalization immensely. Pfizer and Moderna are already in the process of developing boosters for the variants. Viruses often mutate to weaker forms to spread quicker and then die out. Covid will never just disappear. It's likely with us for the rest of our lives. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/05/how-the-different-covid-vaccines-will-handle-variants.html
  3. Tons of snow in the Dacks right now. Those signs are 7 feet tall.
  4. Well they are no longer updating data. So CDC is only metric to go by now?
  5. Numbers are lower than I thought covid tracking project has a week delay in hospitalizations. CDC has 33k today https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#hospitalizations
  6. It seems those numbers are high as well CDC numbers are more accurate as posted above. Hospitalizations are now at 33k https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#hospitalizations
  7. The entire country got quite a bit of snow this year.
  8. I like that above normal for Florida. I'll be there almost that entire time period.
  9. Does anyone know how long the antibodies last with the vaccine? I know natural infection antibodies last anywhere from a few months to a year. We likely will all be getting a booster sometime next year with the variants included?
  10. End of EPS and GEFS look like a brief arctic shot. I would say the 17-21 should be below normal with a chance of a snowstorm.
  11. Next Weds/thursday look very warm. Will be lots of 60s
  12. Interesting A recent Canadian study published in Blood Advances, evaluated a data that involved 95 patients with severe COVID-19 infection. Out of the 95 individuals, 84% had blood type A and required mechanical ventilation. Comparatively, 61% of the group with blood type O and B needed similar treatment. Researchers came to the conclusion that type A blood type has a higher risk of COVID contractions than other blood types.

  14. GFS upgrade is still scheduled for March 17th, per latest update.
  15. Too early to say for sure but this virus definitely has a seasonality component to it. Even without vaccines the cases would fall very sharply in summer as we saw last year.
  16. I'll be in Florida, book a big storm. Just hoping my flights are smooth.
  17. Still falling at a very rapid rate. Down to 44k hospitalizations. I would expect it to slow down a little or there won't be any hospitalizations in 1-2 months at this rate.
