we really couldn't have done better that past 3 months than we did. think about 22/23, 23/24, and 24/25 and this winter really made up for that crap. I'm thankful we had that at least. now we can all feel the sun again:)

i hope so too, we deserve some of the action over here. i've lived out there/spend a lot of time there/relocating there again and the weird part is heat events like this usually aren't that common, you'll typically see this with santa ana winds, but this event seems to lack the classic desert wind induced madness so im excited to see what its like out there with the heat and little to no wind. for those that don't know, the santa ana winds in southern california can actually mess with your head pretty bad. restlessness, insomnia, increased anxiety. im still not sure if its placebo or if the rumor that the desert spores make you go nuts is true but i can attest that every santa ana wind/heat event i've experienced out there makes it so hard to fall asleep, even if the room your sleeping in is a cold temperature

off to san diego tomorrow. will report on the heatwave for all my amwx'ers
-
heard they're pushing it back because the ao is apparently dropping

anyone, and i mean anyone who thinks this is good weather for mid march needs to be psychologically examined. the wind sucks and having it go back into the 30's after a few days of nice weather just makes me sad lmao by next november, i will once again be ready to see some flakes. but as for now, lets just chill at 72 and sunny everyday.
-
you got that right! headed out there on the 18th, fully moving back next january:)

skating outdoors on the first nice day of the year is peak existence
-
im flying to san diego on the 18th. if this verifies i'd snap

oh look! 41 degrees and rain potential!

7pm sunset is a game changer every year. gives a fresh breath of air to the daily routine. also looking forward to some rain to get this salt out of here. not sure about other areas in the metro but white plains should be banned from ever looking at salt again. its absurd what they do, especially considering i come from somewhere with a significantly higher amount of snowfall than down here, i've never seen such blatant salt usage

2025-2026 ENSO

like clockwork, march gets your hopes up then april crushes us with some of the most depressing weather of the year -
agreed. by march the fun of it has worn off for me and i remember that i can go skateboarding outside and not in head to toe long johns. we skate a parking garage in dobbs ferry where im nearly certain theres loads of asbestos or some other highly carcinogenic insulation that we breathe in 3-4 times a week for the duration of winter. obv, thats my own problem, but having skateboarded essentially my entire life it's not something i can just shelf for a few months. the snow is beautiful but by march i've exhausted my 4 hoodies i own and im ready to be outside in a tee shirt again. on the other hand, i'd certainly rather see it snow than the 30 straight days of grey, rain, wind, and 51 degrees that april will surely bring lmao

almost positive you wouldn't say that if it showed an outcome you like can winter be over now? kinda really sick of not feeling the sun on my skin and spending more time than not inside
-
i just looked outside and holy shlamola its ripping in wp rn

my man got the thickest bk accent i've ever heard
-
after many store visits, the gas station near me had a ton lmao
-
just realized i need probs buy a shovel. last one broke when i came home from california a month ago and there was a foot of snow glued-with ice stuck to my car and all around it lmao
-
im from albany, and my whole family is from syracuse. although its 2 hours and 17 mins to my parents house from my apartment in white plains. winters down here are light work compared to upstate, cant fathom maine
-
as a past and a near future sd resident, im laughing at how people are handling their lil cool snap out there rn. was 40 in la mesa (about 8 miles east from downtown sd) and people are "freezing". my girlfriend (native san diegan) who lives out there has been complaining about the cold lmao
-
hi amwx'ers. i will (most likely) be relocating back to san diego in the beginning of next year. will be doing a back and forth between sd and albany (2 months sd, one month albs). i am beyond ecstatic to not live in the nyc metro (sorry) but what a send off for winter we're about to have. lets all cash in here
